Hi, I do still live there and the porch is largely the same, aside from my landlord painting the house a different color (which really impacts the look, I will send in a pic). As for sourcing; the orange chair is a Woodard Sculptura chair that I got on CL and painted with spray paint (it has since been powder coated but in the same color - more durable) and the pebble mat was from amazon (and has held up surprisingly well).

No exchange here, we go for a full on competition.....may the best cookie win. It's lots of fun and we usually get about 20 entries and 30-40 tasters. It's early enough in the season that we get great ideas and can try out new recipes.

It is jasmine, it's blooming now and really incredible - I will try to send in a new pic. As for how I did it, it was one $12 plant about 2.5 years ago and as it grew I wove the shoots around the metal railing....easy

I made the spiked apple cider (from last week's post) for my cookie competition and it was a total hit. As usual, I froze some juice to use as the ice to keep the punch from getting watery. This year I made the ice in the Williams-Sonoma small presents cake pan, so I had frozen bow-wrapped apple juice packages floating in my punch!

I use beet greens to make pesto. It is a spicy and earthy taste and I really like it.

I had that urge, the urge to get all new furniture or even to move and for the first time ever.... I stopped, I looked at what I had/ where I lived and I decided what I really wanted was my place/my stuff to look better and so I found paint colors, a good re upholsterer, a lamp repair guy, a sewing machine I could borrow, some cans of spray paint (that Montana brand has every color imaginable) etc....and I have to say I love the transformation.....some things I have carted around for 15 years and they finally have reached their potential......I agree wholeheartedly work with what you've got and try to surround yourself with only things you love - usually they can grow with you.

The chairs are Woodard Scultptura from the 50s- what a great set.

And everything is so lush and green. Gorgeous.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. It totally encourages me to bring some color inside as well.

Nicolson....the chair is vintage - Woodard Sculptura (and a can of orange spray paint). I found that one on CL.....
