It bothers me so much when people put their TVs above their fireplaces. No, I'm not going to come to your olympics-opening-ceremony-viewing-party if I have to strain my neck and look UP all night.

Agreed with charmac. To me, "prosumer" means hardware with Professional capabilities, at prices affordable to consumers. I want to do music recording in my house, but I'm not going to get a full sized SSL console, thousands of dollars in preamps, and a handful of neuman mics. I'm going to buy a "prosumer" device like the Digidesign 003. A "consumer" would just plug a microphone straight into his/her laptop.

My biggest pet peeve is TVs above the fireplace. That is way too high for a television. Who want's to strain their neck watching TV? I will enjoy television at my house instead, thank you very much.

Meh, I guess I don't see the point to this. I am an engineer at a tech company, and I see taken-apart things all day everyday. If someone here took a bunch of pieces and tacked them to white bristol board in a geometric way and called it art, I'm sure a lot of people in this building would be offended. The viewer of these photos doesn't get any insight into how the object works... they only get insight into the fact that they will never understand how the object works.

But then again, some art just escapes me. I guess thats why I am an engineer.

I work in Northridge, and there is no way in hell I'm living around there. I had two reasonable choices: westwood-area, near the 405, or east, near the 5. I went with the further of the two commutes, and live off hyperion in silverlake... very close to the 5 or 2. I couldn't be happier. I have a great house, I can walk/bike to anything I want to do.

The westside does seem pretty cheesy and generic. Chain restaurant here, expensive boutique there, etc. Oh, and don't forget TRAFFIC on that side of town.

Plus, I had some great food at a taco truck last night at about 1:30 am. Thats something truly authentic and amazing that you will never find in bhills.

Looks awesome, however is that a glass walkway with no railings between the two staircases? I couldn't handle that. I'd fall of in the middle of the night trying to sneak to the kitchen for a glass of water. And god knows it'd be a disaster if I were a bit tipsy. Check the other pictures on inhabitat

I'm pretty happy with this release. It fixed issues I was having with my soundcard.

When I used to go to USC, I was almost equidistant from the Burbank and Carson one. I would usually go to Carson because traffic was better, and parking is WAY better there. I hate dealing with the parking lot at the burbank Ikea.

But now I live right off the 5 in Los Feliz/Silverlake area, so it only makes sense for me to go to the Burbank one. I just avoid the weekends, and go on weeknights on my way home from work in the valley

This place is gorgeous. I'm quite jealous.

Just a tip though - Your Jasper Morrison/Rowenta coffee pot has been recalled for catching on fire too many times.
