I am so tired of discussions around food quality, mass food production, food marketing, food security, food additives, food anyTHING being framed around fat/obesity. Can we please have a discussion about food that attempt to place the issue at hand as the cause for the "obesity epidemic"? The moral finger wagging is tiresome and non-productive.

/rant.

I made this for dinner tonight. I used a buttercup squash instead of a pumpkin as all the pumpkins in the store were either huge or the little gourd styled. It turned out to be perfect "sickie" food for my partner who is down with a cold today - warm, garlicky (I doubled Dorie's recommendation) and comforting.

There's enough traditional left in my family that we still conform to the idea that tea "requires a shower and not a bath". Tea needs room to bloom and time to steep and this is not well achieved in a mug. So it gets made in a teapot and then poured into a drinking vessel.

I'm firmly in the "milk after steeping but before pouring" camp.

Forget not hot - this is horrifying.

My partner and I drink our coffee (and sweet tea) at very different sweetness levels. So instead of "pre-sweetening" I make simple syrups, sometimes infused with flavours, that allow for sweetening of each drink as it's made.

Leftover broad bean salad (http://www.riverford.co.uk/recipes/recipe.php?recipeid=83&catid=6) made with tomatoes, garlic, feta and some late fava beans from the weekend's market. Super yum.
