bepsf, we are a little country, too. I guess we just buy furniture we like and it all works.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts/suggestions. We'll be trying lots of chairs this holiday season!

Apartment Therapy New York | Good Questions: Chairs for this Drop-Leaf Table?

kimg924: It will live in a very small dining foyer (between an entrance door and living room). Our apartment is a pre-war, so the room has a built-in bookcase, crown molding, and an archway. It is painted a soft, sage-y green and has a bronze chandelier in it (original to the apt). There is currently no other furniture in the room.

We'd prefer to stay away from upholstered seating as the room is small, but wouldn't mind any suggestions on this.

Hope that's helpful.

We just painted our foyer in Soft Fern (BM 2144-40) and it works well with wheat (another color in the room). I do think it would well with teal, too. Good luck!

I know this question has been answered before, but I searched AT and can't find the reponse. So here goes: where is that cutlery wallpaper from? Zara in the UK has similar paper if I remember correctly, but I can't seem to order it online.

I picked up an antique flamed mahogany pedestal side table this weekend and am trying to learn as much about it as I can. The pedestal has a delicate herringbone carving on it. Can you direct me to any websites/resources that might help me narrow down the style and/or the era it was likely made so I can continue my research?

Pick me. We are closing on an apartment next week and we need some "therapy."

ChristineBadina, Rachel Abrams, I do appreciate your thoughts, but it's just not our style. lhedden21, I do like your idea of giving the tiles/fixtures to someone who might be able to use them in their home/apartment.

Thanga, not sure yet. I have been browsing the web and flipping through design magazines for inspiration. I fear that in such a small bathroom--5'x7'--marble tiles up the walls and into the shower might be too much. But I am really not sure, which is why I threw the question out here. This is our first rennovation ever and we want to get it right (or at least to something we want to live with for 5 years).
