I inherited a set of pink willow transferware, the marks date back to the turn of the century. Not all of it is that old, but most of it. I have service for 18. You think I'm kidding? =p I'm one person! Still, I love the stuff and I fondle silver(/plated) serving accessories in flea markets and such. I took a class from a woman who owned an old farmhouse, she said that if you look at the original glass windows in one of the upstairs bedrooms you can see where one of the daughters who grew up in the house "tested" her new engagement ring to make sure the diamond was real. :) Messages Left Behind in Old Homes |

I'm kind of sad to see the condom pillows featured there, the person who makes them is on another site that I frequent and she made them for design project and won some sort of award. She was reluctant to "reproduce" them for sale but so many people encouraged her to go for it and then this woman who runs the site trashes her. I think it's charming, it wasn't painted haphazardly as if the person was using whatever paint they got for free from a relative. There's a definite pattern to it, you don't think to yourself "what were they thinking"... though you might wonder what sort of person would paint it that way. I think it's great!
