The Power Of Paint:
My Lamp Before & After

What struck me the most when I reviewed this tour was that the owners have went to great lengths to make a fun, happy home for their children. The most fun, eye-catching decor (yellow striped walls, stenciled tree) is concentrated in the kid's rooms. How wonderful to have parents who would rather spend hours painting an atlas on your bedroom wall, than waste five minutes hanging a mirror up in their bedroom!

Nessa and Jon, I think you have a lovely home, one that your children will remember fondly when they are all grown up. I hope the negative comments here don't deter you from providing an update of your home in several years. I would love to see the rest of your home after you've fully decorated it!

Hands down my favorite AT house tour. It's so cozy, comfy, casual, and, above all, so personal. Well done, Lindsey!!

I've had my Charlston PB slipcovered couch for 7 years and I love it! It's easy to clean, (machine washable slipcovers), comfortable, and has large, wide seating.

Cons: The PVC piping has torn through the seat cushions along the edges, and are poking through. I just remove the piping when it shows up. I'm not surprised that this happens, though, because the couch gets HOURS of use DAILY by myself, husband, and 2 small dogs. Also, the seat cushions are staring to lose shape, but I think it's because they are feather, and not foam.

Overall, i recommend it!

I made a set of the chalkboard wine glasses and gave them away at a white elephant party last night, and they were a hit! There were one of the most popular gifts that kept getting "stolen." Thanks AT for posting thE project!

I had the exact same problem when we moved into our new house. My entire window is 150 inches long. I ended up installing 3 panels of 2" vertical blinds that I purchased off the shelf at Home Depot, and we installed them recessed inside of the window frame. Heathercan9 is right, you can get very nice blinds off the shelf nowadays. The total cost for the blinds was around $100.

I love the tip about writing down the internet code and password. I don't know if I'll ever be the type of hostess that will dry emy guest's bath towels, but I DID install extra hooks in my second bedroom for guests to hang towels on while staying at our house.

Definitely #1!! I'm in my second home, and I cringe when I think of all the expensive furniture I purchased and ended up getting rid of b/c I decided it wasn't my style.
