It looks like you could just terminate the paint color at the corner of the hallway. The other walls in the hallway can be a different color since it isn't a long stretch. I think that would be easier on the eye that interrupting the paint color somehow at the arch.

I watched the show and the kitchen wasn't within the scope of work. I think they are on a tight timeline like most of those shows... Their old show on Bravo really showcased their abilities a lot better.
