I painted my bedroom that color a few years ago and LOVED it. Lots of white moulding for contrast, but it really did energize me. Pantone's Color of the Year for 2012 |

I'm obsessed with Garnet Hill's jersey sheets! I've been using them for over a decade (on my second set now). We use the jersey duvet cover too and it's so soft that we don't use a top sheet. I've found Garnet Hill's flannel and jersey to be of much higher quality than anything else I've tried. Getting Cozy: Kid Friendly Flannel Sheets |

The ducts! curlsz is right. I worked in an apartment rental office and we had one unit that had 1)carpet replaced, 2)walls repainted and finally 3) all ductwork replaced before the smoke smell was gone. How To Get Rid of Cigarette Odor? Good Questions |

I think a light gray-brown would be lovely. Benjamin Moore Marble Canyon or something like it. I don't think the wall color should be much darker than that or it will compete with the brick. Marble Canyon would work with most decors. What Wall Color with Woodsy Interior? Good Questions |

This looks almost exactly like the kitchen in my 1952 house! I'd like to do something to our cabinets as well. Not because I don't like the white, but because they've been painted so many times that they stick when opening and the paint looks gloppy and thick all over. Also, the drawers don't have slides which is maddening! How To Update 1920's Kitchen? Good Questions |

kfsroth, thank you for posting that! I was planning on making this for my son's 2nd birthday party next weekend. Now I'll use another cake recipe. The Rose Levy Beranbaum recipe I have uses baking powder, not soda. I wonder if that's where the problem lies. Birthday Cake Recipe: Funfetti Cake From Scratch |

This also makes me think of all the "Ugh, another Keep Calm and Carry On poster?" comments on the main site. I just think of how hurtful it would be if those were comments on my house. It would be a real loss if these negative posters discouraged people from having their homes featured on AT. I love the house tours! We just removed the glass dome on our boob fixture and are attempting the Young House Love idea. We bought a lampshade that's 20" in diameter which is big enough to obscure the outer rim of the light. Now we need to find some fabric to cover the bottom. The only thing to add is that when you unscrew the glass dome, you're left with a threaded rod (that's what you attach the shade to) and our rod only had threads halfway up so that when we screwed the shade on, the gap between the shade and the ceiling was too big and you could see the light bulbs. But you can replace the rod with a fully threaded one...my husband got one at Home Depot for a few bucks. A really fantastic alternative for renters! How To Improve Dome Light Fixture In Rental?
