Easy Resolutions You Can Accomplish Today

I can see this being 390 sq ft. There is almost no kitchen and the bedroom is tiny. However that does leave a huge living room area. I'm looking at a 400 sqft place that has a large/normal kitchen and bedroom, but a tiny living room.

It is a nice place, I love your kitchen table/workspace by the fridge.

I'm with sockmuppet. If you get paid to do something, have some pride and do it well.

Tone is impossible to gauge over the internet.

You can't tell if I am being calm (I am), sarcastic, rude, angry or sad about the plight of the human race.

Take into consideration that some of us are visual people who see oversights such as these as glaring distractions from the content.

I have to admit that palate vs. palette bothers me less than oversight vs. overcite (which is not even a word)

Everyone else focused this onto sockmuppet. Polite people would have taken the comment with the best of intentions instead of the worst.

I assume that you are all trying to be polite by supporting the writer, who may be embarrassed, however that has only focused more onto the mistakes made.

The house with unfinished projects needs to have the projects finished. Once you move in and have your things in place, it will help a great deal. The unfinished projects will cause you to dwell on the people, their divorce and their plight instead of rejoicing in your new home.

yep. The CL ad never mentions metal. The original source link says plastic. They are heavy duty though.

They take "real leather" and mix it with something and apply it to either cheaper leather or fabric. Which means it's still "real leather", but not in the way most people think it is. They have a name for it that sounds innocent. They can also split the leather and use a super thin layer of leather on top of fabric. It's still real leather, but not thick leather.

I've worked with horses and have handled a lot of leather saddles, bridles, halters and I've made leather chaps. This does not happen to a normal piece of leather. It's thick and tough. Most garment leather is not a full thickness of leather. The top layer is used for coats and such, the bottom layer is used for shoes, shoe soles etc....So it is never a full thickness of leather, but it does matter how much they use.
This is more like real oak veneer on a plywood bookcase.

I'd keep using it though.

Okay I love the after however "simple changes" doesn't accurately cover the fact that they changed -the floor tile, the walls, the door frames, the ceiling, the light fixtures and the doors. They basically ripped it to the studs and redid everything. There is nothing "simple" about this change!

I live in the suburbs and always kick my shoes off at the door because I like being barefoot. I let others wear shoes though. I keep slide on shoes by each door in case I need to run out after the dog or something.

I never had trouble with a gas range and dish towels.

I love them all, but the all feature the two things my kitchen does not have. Windows and white cabinets.

I agree with pointing the knives down. I don't think it really makes a difference safety wise, I just prefer the look.

I love #2, it is nice and cozy.

Most of my furniture was free from relatives or friends, but it is also good quality. I pass on most free laminate items, but will snatch up free solid wood pieces. A bit of paint or stripper and varnish and they look great.
The 1980's couch has no style, but it is solid and comfortable enough to sleep on.

It's not about the amount of money spent, it is about choosing well and treating your pieces nicely when moving.

I've used friends and family to watch my cats when gone for more than 3 days. My dog goes to my parents to visit. I had a friend watch him once, she took him to her house. The fish just have to tough it out on their own. I like the idea of couch surfers for longer periods of time.

Glass pans are about 1/2 an inch thick, etching effects only about 1/20 of the glass or so. Since it roughens the glass but does not cut or begin any fracturing of the glass it should not hurt the integrity of the glass at all.

It would also be possible to mix compost, garden soil (from a garden store/lowes/home depot etc...)and seeds and spread them from a bag. The garden soil has some clay. It will do the job, but not make a ball shape.

You could also make newspaper packets. Fill then place and open. The newspaper will decompose and help feed the plants.

We've had a drought this year, but most people have just let the lawn turn brown and were happy they didn't have to mow. Now that it has rained, the lawns are greening up again. Much more reasonable than Phoenix. There was one house with a green lawn, they just seem deranged. Why waste water just so you can waste gas and time mowing?

I think that white and square or rectangular would go the best with the angular sink etc....

I sort of love that the mirror is small and minimal. A little bigger would be better.

As a child my first favorite color was a bright aquamarine, I find that this past year with all of the accessories available in that color confirms that it is still my favorite. As for wall colors I had blue walls (not my choice) as a kid, wanted (did not get) black walls as a teen, rentals in my early twenties and a warm yellow in my late twenties to present.
