When I was subletting a bedroom, I pushed my twin bed against the way and put cushions along the wall so that it could double as a couch. You could do the same with her bed by putting it along the dresser wall. Then if the dresser is solid wood, move it to the window wall and make a cushion top for it. That way they could use it as a bar height bench.

One of the best bar tipping recommendations I ever received is to over tip on your first drink. Like a $5 on a cheap drink and a $10 on something more complex. That way the bartender will remember you and for future orders you can get away with the $1 a drink.
