Speaking of stainless steel in the kitchen, I have a question for y'all -

We have white quartz countertops in the kitchen--which we love--and are thinking of installing a stainless steel backsplash on the wall behind the sink. We would do it ourselves, but I have two concerns. I worry about water seeping through the bottom (where the bottom of the stainless backsplash would meet the top of the countertop) and creating a god-awful mess on the wall behind. My other concern is that the stainless would peel loose from the wall.

Any thoughts?

We have a smallish guest room with limited space, and I think these would work quite well there. However, I probably wouldn't place books that high on the upper shelves in a child's room if I expected them to look at the books, but I could imagine placing decorative objects on those upper shelves. Nice job.

While not the exact same shirt, Bookshop Santa Cruz sells very similar tees - http://www.bookshopsantacruz.com/tshirts

I also love some of the READ items sold at the American Library Association's online shop - http://www.bookshopsantacruz.com/tshirts Both of my kids have the red READ ball cap, and I'm always getting comments on it.

Cute place, absolutely. Book-filled, no. Like other commenters, I would love to see some large home libraries. I'm a librarian married to an English prof/writer, and we have a ridiculous number of books covering three floors of our rowhouse. We tossed out the chipped, worn Ikea shelving when we recently moved in hopes of eventually building something more permanent (and perhaps quirkier) in the house. I could use some inspiration.

@cossbysweater: My husband also has that talking Pee Wee doll! Displayed in his office along with a statue of Groucho Marx as Captain Spaluding, it's a sort of test of students who come to visit during his office hours.
