I'm in the middle of trying to figure out record storage in my (tiny) condo... ideally I'd wind up with something that was about a yard wide and two shelves high, and which goes in my sliding-toward-'warm industrial' living room. I'm looking around, and also considering making something. This was very timely, though not particularly applicable aesthetically!

@sfgirl - Advertise them on Craigslist? We've unloaded some that way.

I have also had kanthas on my mind lately! Funny how that works, isn't it?

It looks to me like your quilt has some light neutral browns in it; I would pick one of those up to warm up the space, and then, as griffin said, change the curtains - probably to a vivid blue (like the smaller square all the way to the right in the bottom picture) or red (like the large square at the bottom of the other two pictures).

I did very well with Sherwin Williams SW2043 Canoe; it's sort of a pale chocolate milk color, but it does lovely things in different lights and is surprisingly warm and bright.

I'm shocked at that statistic - 37% seems ridiculously, bizarrely low to me. But then, I was absolutely one of those kids, and today I suppose I might have had a Kindle or something to lessen the weight. Maybe.

Is the Cost of Living Report a series for different cities? If not, can it please be? If so, can there be an easy way to find other entries in the series? This is GREAT and I would love to see more like it!

I did my fiction by color at my last apartment, which drove my roommate batty but made me smile. I will probably do that again here, when I finish assembling my bookcases (homemade built-ins are great in theory, but it's been months and they need to just be done already...). My non-fiction will be by genre, at least sort of, but mostly it'll be arranged the way I used to arrange my CDs: my association. If this reminds me of this other thing, then they will naturally go beside one another...

This also irks other people, but it's how my brain works and therefore couldn't be better for me. It means things are sort of sorted by genre, but the genres melt together in a way that seems logical to me.

I agree with @Devyn. Of my personal accounts, there is my main one, which is for my online username, then one which is Real Full Name at gmail, one for spam, and one for semi-official things which uses a different handle than my goofing-on-the-internet id but not my actual full legal name. I also have an old yahoo of my username, which mostly collates spam and maybe could be purged now, but that's neither here nor there. I find it very important to keep separate ones for my private internet use (hi, AT) and my two distinct careers.

That said, they all aggregate to my main account so I don't miss things, because I certainly don't keep track of that many web-based accounts the long way!

I swear that something about the angle of the Eames chair in the first pic made me think someone had done a Wall-E mod of their Eames chair. My brain promptly broke.

But yes, fun as I'm sure this was to compile, I agree with Taureg.

I'm really sad you didn't have an option for people who don't like it (or don't like it as much as others seem to) - I've been wondering what percentage of us are on here, given how much Apartment Therapy focuses on it!

I'm with markbright, except I'd like to see some space given to Arts & Crafts more than Mission... but honestly more than anything I'd like to see more variety! I have somewhat eclectic taste and every once in a while there's a one-off post about a more interesting or new-to-me style that I'd love to see explored in more depth.
