I hate to say it but the fact that your little one is hanging out on his changing table scares the begeebus out of me. At 6 months old I rolled off mine when my Mom turned her back just long enough to grab a pair of pants from the dresser behind her and I fractured my femur and split one of the "soft spots" in my skull.
Not trying to freak anyone out, but that's all I can think of when I see the first picture. ;)

I love white walls in kids rooms, this is one of my favorites too: http://nameisgrace.blogspot.com/2011/05/harpers-bedroom-details.html

Aw, man. Too bad you couldn't have made it to both shows! (We only made it to the Wiltern this year)
If you ever make it out to an LA show, we'll see if we can't get that record signed for you.
...and don't feel bad being creepy, I do it too. My son has a framed "When I grow up I wanna be in the BJM" onesie that I had everyone sign years ago at Coachella when I was newly pregnant. :)

My brother is a musician, and so whenever their tour brings them to town, we go. My son has so far attended Coachella (in utero), a show at the Fonda in LA (at 6 months) and recently a show at the Wiltern (at 2 1/2). We have the noise cancelling headphones and he's been wearing them around live music, fireworks, etc since he was an infant, although there are times he wants to chuck them on the floor now that he's a toddler. The experence definitely changes as they age and develop a longer attention span.
The last time we went to a show I considered not taking him. Then I realized that it was less about how much he realized at the time, but more for the memories down the road. 15 years from now I would rather show him pictures of him sitting just offstage watching Uncle Matt play than telling him about how he was home with the sitter while we hung out backstage. Maybe we'll even get a little credit for being "cool parents" :)

We got a Gro-Egg thermometer for the nursery when our baby was born two winters ago (http://www.amazon.com/Gro-Egg-Color-Changing-Digital-Thermometer/dp/B002B55BN8) and we still use it in his room now. My husband was always worried that the baby was too cold, and I was always trying to tell him it wasn't as cold as he thought. The Egg helped settle the debate. Sometimes we think it should be warmer in their room than is really ideal for them. Plus, it makes a nice night light as they grow up.

I was feeling the same way, so I decided to challenge myself to doing one thing - big or small - that I pinned each month. I got some friends to agree to the challenge as well and set up a "Pin-up Girls" Facebook page where we can share or Pin to Projects and give out thoughts on how they translated to real life. :)

We're totally joining in on the Pinterest Challenge on Wednesday too! Man, I hope I can find time this weekend to finish my project before Wednesday!

I am Mom and I have a very visable (on the inside of my wrist) tattoo. Daddy has a tattoo, and we have friends with full sleeves.
It is ridiculous to think that children need to play with toys that reflect only one perspective on life.

I'm not a shopaholic and I didn't marry a man-child either, and my husband certainly has a "pair" and we are both secure enough in ourselves and our relationship to do things as individuals... but, there is a reason why we walk into Target and my husband says, "I'll be in Electronics..." as he heads off in one direction.
We live an hour from the closest Ikea and because of the distance we usually make a day of it together and visit friends or parks/zoo's etc in the area. I have been there many times without my husband (with my toddler who is too young for "Smalland") and I can say it is much easier to pick up furniture with someone else who can a.)lift heavy things and/or b.)wait with our stuff while I go get the car. The toddler is useless in both those instances ;)
Frankly, I would love it if I could drop off my "boys", and go get what I need... I only wish they had a longer time limit on both "lands"!

I agree with Olive Kids bedding, we just got this one after I went through a ton of options for our sons Pirate room, including making it myself: http://www.olivekids.com/product_BD-PIRA-216/Toddler+Bedding/Toddler+Sheetset/Pirates%21.html
I still plan on making curtains myself since I'm not into the whole matchy-matchy overly themed stuff and plan to use red/white stripes and a black/white modern looking damask fabrics to compliment the bedding.
