Yeah, I agree with all the comments-the on line voting is clearly been suspect, and has undermined any serious judging of design-but rather just tallying who has enlisted the most friends to create temporary accounts and vote as often as possible. It's a shame, because some designs are creative, yet we are to believe that an electrical light switch, or a foot stool for a cat to lie on, or relatively banal furniture that is derivative of designs already on the market, are garnering the level of mass appeal suggested by the votes, and deserve tens of thousands of dollars in free advertising?

Maybe in an in-flight travel magazine, next to the floating putting green for one's pool perhaps....but I thought AT was better than that.

is it correct to assume the ply subfloor is made of sheets, and you like the rhythum of the painted strip flooring in the photo?
if so, one option is to replace subfloor you have now with T&G plywood floor boards which are inexpensive, and will give you that look once painted thoroughly.

I dont understand the concern over spilling coffee on books! My coffee tables always have books or magazines on them; this design provides a place for them.

It's Beautiful as it is.
Six wineglasses is perfect. No need to add anything, and overdesign it. The restraint is its strength.

It would work perfectly in my apartment!
