You can put leftover pesto into ice cube trays, freeze it, then put the cubes into a bag for storage. Makes great ready-to-go portions!

I think that I would get rid of the top cabinets on the wall with the fridge and sink. And you may be able to repurpose some of their pieces to make the shelving in the some of the other cabinets more stable.

That would take some of the heavyness out of the the room, and you're really only losing a little bit of storage. Then sand and paint the remaining cabinets a lighter color, maybe a color close to the color of the countertops?

Never, never, never pour un-used paint in the bathtub or toilet! I used to work in property management and I was mortified at how often people did this. Not only is it a huge, stain-y mess (and toxic!) but the paint will settle and dry in the pipes and can cause a plumbing nightmare.

Some cities have hazardous waste drop off sites where you can take your unused paint, you can also let it dry out completely (it's only considered a hazardous material when it's liquid) and just throw it in the trash. Also, churches and other orgainizations would probably apprecaite a donation if they have any upcoming projects!

Chopped tomatoes, fresh corn kernels, red onion, jalapeno, garilc, cilantro, cucumber, lime juice, salt, pepper. Ridiculously cheap to make. Good with chips, better over pasta, best with a spoon!!

I always start a tab at a bar; and when I get my bill I just double the first number of the total for the tip. So if my bill was $30, I'd leave a $6 tip. This ususally works out to a 15%-20% tip and it's super easy on a brain that's had a few drinks!

Squirt some dish soap directly onto the grill while it's still hot. It'll bubble up. Then run a wet bristley scrub brush over it. Works like a charm!
