i've made dried limes but i found it way too bitter when i added it to tea or water. how long it needs to be in the oven or dehydrator depends on how thick you slice them. Just leave them until they are completely dry to the point they are crisp Dried Citrus Slices: An Easy Way to Flavor Water and Tea |

If you are so sensitive to nuts that you can't be within 20' of nuts without going into shock, I don't see how you could be on a plane. While you can request, do you actually expect that everyone on the plane is not going to bring any nuts and they will adequately clean every surface and bit of upholstery on the plane? The air on the plane is recirculated so you need everyone, not just the people around you to do this? By that same reasoning, are you able to go into large buildings (where the air is also recirculated)? I'm perplexed. What Foods Can You Carry On The Plane? |

my mother actually prefers a dull knife. she went into my drawer and got a meat cleaver to slice up some turkey (that had already been pulled off the bone) after thanksgiving rather than use my chef's knife that I had out on the counter. How To Cope With Your Parents' Dull Knives |

My house has an open combined kitchen and dining room. Something like this could definitely fit in my kitchen without being cramped. Essentially, replacing my dining table with an island. I could see that second island being a good place to have additional storage for whatever random stuff, not necessarily cookware. My kitchen is where I spend pretty much all my time when I am home so stuff tends to migrate into this room. I could definitely see it working in my kitchen, although I won't be adding one any time soon. I am by no stretch of the imagination rich; I have a 1940's cape cod. It's just a bit more storage. Since when does everyone hate having extra storage? Do you hate built in shelving too? Two Islands in the Kitchen: Do or Don't? |

I like the idea of the before party. I will be buying/moving into a new house in the not too distant future (hopefully). My previous house never got to a 'done' state so if I wait for that, I'll never have anyone over. Personally, I'm not sure how I feel about a housewarming party because I don't know who to invite. Do you invite people you haven't spoken to in a few years? Or coworkers, and if so, how big of your circle do you go? Is it sad that I'm almost 30 and haven't hosted a party at my home like ever? I like it without handles. I think it looks better without little things protruding from the cabinets. I seem to snag things on knobs and drawer pulls and I don't really get why people say it looks more finished. If I ever redo a kitchen I would put cabinets without handles. I have to disagree with most of the commenters. If you use you kitchen, you do not put everything away and have a clutter free space. I'd rather use the space than have it be uncluttered. Where To Hang Pot Rack In Small Kitchen? Good Questions |

I would put shelving in, at least up high. Then, depending on what you need/fits your style: small table with stool, plant, shelving all the way down if you need more storage, shoe rack/hanging hooks if it near the entry. How To Fill This Empty Corner? Good Questions |

phoxx - when you turn the machine around the controls are on the far side so you have to reach over or around the mixer to adjust the speed. when incorporating a new ingredient, it is fairly common to need to adjust the mixer speed so this is not exactly ideal. you are clearly a righty and jmorri and jamimess are either lefties or know lefties. you might want to consider the possibility that there might be other people in the world who have a brain and have tried the most obvious alternative and have seen that it doesn't work.
