I'm with those who are thinking, "Paris? Looks like a catalogue for West Elm" or some such. American and chilly. Why no richness and color and texture and interesting vintage stuff? Furnish from the flea markets for godssakes... make it look like Paris!!

The street! Or the sidewalk, as the case may be. New York City is always a godsend for garbage pickers. There used to be a "bulk pickup day" and people would cruise around the night before looking to see what was being thrown away. All worthy choices, except perhaps for the Alessi tea kettle at $175. It's a little TOO iconic at this point, I hear it's hot to handle, and I think the OXO kettle for about 40 bucks is wonderful design.
