Can't imagine my bedroom without books. Books just make it so warm and cosy! But, i woun't really have an overwhelming amount of them. A well balanced look would be what I would vote for.

I agree that less is more! There was a time when I had so many toys for my son, that I observed he actually played less! Once I packed off the excess, he plays much more, and more creatively too with the remaining stuff.

I have alloted two "declutter" and "cleansing" sessions per year for this purpose. One is in June and the other in December. I "spring clean" my entire room and all the nooks and crannies where stuff is stored.

I would add a lot of colour! I would choose red tartan fabric for the upholstery and then paint the chairs to give it a fresh look. Window hangings and wind chimes would complete the look!

I agree that organizing needs to be an ongoing process...what I have noticed in myself is, I tend to clutter stuff and then just before I have some important submission I take time out to declutter so it helps me work better!
