Big fan of Christopher Silas Neal's work-so thrilled to see his work space. Thanks Apartment Therapy!

I think it's also similar to William Theibaud's work: https://www.google.com/search?q=william+thiebaud+gumball+machine&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.45512109,d.aWM&biw=1045&bih=674&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&authuser=0&ei=bEFzUb7hIZLlqAHev4GoCA#um=1&hl=en&authuser=0&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=william+thiebaud&oq=william+thiebaud&gs_l=img.3..0.93542.93953.0.94261.2.2.0.0.0.0.289.369.1j0j1.2.0...0.0...1c.1.9.img.bbVwuMTWrtc&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.45512109,d.aWM&fp=f00d934b5cfb71f3&biw=1045&bih=674

Can you make out that signature on it? Or guess at it?

I agree with several other posters on this one: please can we see the whole house tour! And also, maybe you can start a blog that documents the process? I would really love that.

Gorgeous reno! Keep it up!

So excited to see a post about Lexington and McConnel Springs! I grew up there and visited all the time. Thanks for making my day and helping me appreciate my hometown with this post!

As a life long horse lover, I was immediately giddy when I saw this post! I know I'm biased here, but I really love when kids are able to have the opportunity to learn about animals and how to take care of them. I think it's such an amazing way to teach empathy and kindness.

The party looks like it was amazing-love those cupcake toppers!

Very cool indeed!

Although the process might look somewhat wasteful for the product and a little hectic for those without a personal lathe and , I still think that the use of an industrial lathe in this way is pretty great and interesting. Plus, based on the few times I've used a lathe, I bet it would be very fun to make!

I bet a much simpilier/less wasteful way of making this could be as simple as gluing a wood grain print onto a shade. Or one level up: steam curling a thin piece of plywood or curling a piece of veneer? Not sure, but it definitely makes me want to try something out!

I've always been afraid of DIY upholstery but now that I know the secrets of double sided tape, I feel fearless! Also, I wonder if heavy duty carpet tape would last the longest... what kind did you use?

Anyhow, great results-gorgeous pairing of color and pattern!

They are very pretty! Are they Waterford? Just curious.

My parents have had a set that we've been using for decades and for the most part I've never thought twice about it as most of the prior commenters have mentioned.

Just be care about washing them the right way in order to preserve their quality-as also mentioned by other readers.

Can I just tell you how much I needed to read all of this? As a working from home professional, I completely empathize with the priceless feeling of efficiency and order. I believe there is serious longevity and much-needed productive habits to be had once one finds the right organizational system. Congratulations on creating it for yourself! I'll definitely be referencing this post as I have just started redesigning, reorganizing and reconstructing my workspace! Thanks!

Also, where did you get your white action trays? They are gorgeous and I would love a set of my own!

I know there have been comments here and there claiming your space is too sparse or blank, but frankly, I couldn't agree less. For me, your home seems very personal, clearheaded and composed. I would love to live in an apartment as serene and quiet as this!

When my parents were first looking for a house in the early 1990s in Kentucky they came across a definite fixer-upper. They were open to the idea until the real estate agent showed up with a holy bible, holy water and a shotgun-literally! Maybe it was a southern thing? Anyhow, the gesture alone was enough for them to decide against buying.

On the other hand, I have friends who moved into a home where the prior owners we raided for drugs. After about 5 years of major overhauls, the home is completely transformed into a warm and welcoming place. Now, the drug-raid just makes for a cool story when giving home tours to guests.

I guess it could go either way depending on how much you let it get to you. Good luck in your decision!
