When I was younger my parents were ussually out working late. We live in a large house (3 floors) so when I was home alone I felt vulnerable because I felt I couldn't cover all 3 floors at once, and always envisioned house intruders attacking while my parents were gone, or at night. I'm 13 now and more confident, but I feel my early childhood keeps me at a reasonable level of paranoia, I lock my door at night, switchblade beside the bed, bats on the first floor, steak knives in the kitchen on the second floor. If I hear a sound at night I will quietly listen in bed for a second sound, and if I hear that I will flick open the switchblade and go on the hunt, clearing every room and checking every lock. And constantly think of possible scenarios and reactions plans to them. Is this bad? Do You Keep a Bat Under the Bed? |
