My favorite thing to do is to change out curtains when summer comes around. Years ago I got plain white cotton panels from Target, and they are so wonderful in the summer when the breezes come in the open windows, the opaque curtains let light in and offer privacy. White curtain can be bleached to restore their crisp, clean look. 5 Sources for Affordable Patterned Curtains |

Thanks, I really enjoyed this, and found breaking things up like you did, made all the difference in the world. I would often be 'reading your mind' by moving into something that you suggested before you got there. Other times, I'd feel I'd gotten behind, but just learned to relax and enjoy the process. In the short time we did this project, I got more done than when I set aside a week or weekend to tackle just one piece. Slow and easy does win the race! It was fun, and I hope you do this again! I missed the drawer, day 14, and this gave me a great idea to use the kitchen junk drawer for the In/Out drawer. Excellent idea. Also, hadn't completed the walk-in closet/office supply reorganization, and this also gave me ideas and inspiration to get that done. Cuppa tea and here I go.... Just wrote an article yesterday on sentimental clutter and the need to let go of things that tie us to the past...to an experience, relationship, or time "when..." Books fall into this category. I have old paperbacks from my English Lit. and Psyh. days in university, and that was decades ago. Each time I look at the collection of Greek plays, Crime and Punishment, Historical Perspectives in Psychology, The Drama Reader, or Norton's Anthology, I am reminded of those times. My decision is to put them on a shelf for 6 months to see if I pick them up for a reread. If at the end of that time I haven't touched them, I'll give them away or sell them to my local bookstore. Books are hard to get rid of, and just before I opened your blog this morning, I piled a stack of books in my recycle to Deja Vu (a thrift shop that supports our local women's shelter) box. So far, this month plan is really hitting the mark. If I am honest with myself, I can probably tackle some of the issues that keep me hanging on to some things that need to leave my space and life.
