I LOVE the new look. I think a big problem with people who think the before is "charming" is THEY aren't the ones that have to cook and use the space. Not to be rude, but the before looks rather grody (not just because it's lived in, as "lived in" does NOT equal grody), and kitchens should be clean. You can see the stains in the finishes, that have probably been there for years and no one can get them out. I think it's a great idea to keep the more permanent elements (like appliances/tile/cabinetry) neutral, as it leaves the homeowners the freedom of choosing which colours they want to use and when! My two cents, anyways...

Congrats to the homeowners who I'm sure LOVE the change!

@mikeinkansascity I have the same exact issue! Every. Single. Boxspring. Never fails haha. I had a cat condo that had a hammock on the bottom they never used, so I filled it with their cat toys.

I can't wait for an outdoor channel! I just did a blog post about our garden plans, but my crappy cell phone pics would only suit to enrage normal AT dwellers. Can't wait to see what others share!

@Jarsicah I just threw the search in Google for a Floating Wine Rack and this exact one is out of stock on Amazon.com, but looks like it was $50. You can find it here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/asin/B000NIGYLS/miregreesfren-20

I'd also highly recommend the Ultimate Scratching Post by Smart Cat. I have three Maine Coons, and they absolutely LOVE their post. The only time I've seen it really wobble is when my biggest (~20lbs) actually hangs his entire body off it, after slamming into it at a dead run from the stairs. Hasn't tipped over yet! I will actually be buying another one they love it SO much.

Really? People have an issue with the title? Clearly the writer was including it as a little quip toward the space. Get over yourselves.

I can't wait to see this transformation!

Rain Storm is the exact colour I picked out for my bathroom a few years back! LOVE it on the walls. Gorgeous room, makes me more excited for the day I'll finally be able to paint it!

I like how everyone is defending the "artist" being Fairey, and not the original photographer, who is actually the one who owns the copyright on his hard work. WTG, AT readers. You keep at the crusade.

I love that navy colour! Gorgeous! I also really like the art work, it fits in well. Where did you get the Independent piece from?

Funstraw does not live up to their name!

I think this is pretty fun, although I'm assuming that he doesn't actually play the song over and over again until the season is over. I bet everyone in the neighborhood looks forward to a different performance every year (even if they may hate it by the end of the holiday). Haha.

I've been a reader of YHL for years. I actually think this looks nothing like their newest office. Aside from the fabric, what's the same? If using a twin desk set up is worth of giving "credit where its due" I'm SURE YHL wasn't the first...

I'd love more information about the art and the pillows. The pillow at the end of the tour cracked me up. "Seriously, don't f**k my mom." The Miramax pillows are also killer.

I have a small galley kitchen (72sq. feet), with incredibly limited workspace. The way its split, with my stove breaking up one side of counters (leaving <20" of counter space on each side of the stove), and the sink breaking up the other side (leaving around 24" of counter space on each side) I find myself often doing most of my preparation on my ceramic cook top which is somewhere over 30". I think it would be a useful configuration so long as there was ample counterspace. I can't stand my tiny kitchen! Haha.

In regards to Gianna's comment, I'd avoid using Porpoise unless you really like purple undertones. I just painted my entire office this colour and it is a huge let down. Beautiful on paint chips, beautiful on the site, very purple on the walls.

I agree with the rest of the commenters, white mat/towels. If you're a renter, are you allowed to paint? If not I'd consider adding some art that wouldn't be affected by the moisture. And some nice glass containers to hold essentials.
