I think that Key Things say it all about this apartment. It has everything that it needs and nothing more. Great use of the space the Key Things in it.

Love the place, especially the purple sofa. I'd never have one myself but it works wonderfully in the space.

A couple of years ago, my company gave everyone a super sized backpack. Initially, I thought it was great as I'd be able to carry everything I needed in it. After a couple of months, I realized that 80%+ of the stuff never left the backpack.

I gave the backpack away and bought a briefcase from Hlaska. It's just big enough for my 13" laptop, book (now iPad), file folders and a few smaller items like pens, thumb drive and the like. It's very rare that there's something I wish I had but didn't have room for.

I did go to the expense of buying a couple of power adapters so I have 1 at the office and 1 at home so I don't need to carry them with me all the time.

The bottom line is that you need to carry what you need to carry. I fell into the trap of 'just in case'. Thinking about what I really needed helped me reduce the burden on my back.

The Spacebar looks cute but the reviews on the site don't rate it very highly.

@civint. Messiness is not just mid 20's male behavior. Plenty of people of all ages and genders are messy and sty so in relationships.

The iPad is a great device and is probably good enough if you're prepared to change the way you do things and get a wireless harddrive to store all the stuff that you won't have space for on the iPad and / or use iCloud or Dropbox.

The 64gb iPad is $699 or $829 with 4g.

Assuming your budget is around $900, I'd go for a $500-600 laptop and look at getting 2nd iPad 2. The $500-600 laptops are good machines, they mightn't have te latest intel chips but they're solid machines.

I've loved alone for the last 15 years and love it, not sure I could go back to living with someone else.

I only clean when things get to the point of annoying me or people are coming round. I can play Skyrim for 8-10 hours at a stretch with only food and bathroom breaks. I can spend 3-4 hours in the bath reading listening to music.

Admittedly this is selfish and I'd probably be a better person if I lived with someone else but would I be as happy?

I'm a fan of paying with Cash, that way you can't spend more than you've got.

I have the Jambox, it's a great little device. Good sound, it fills a small room very well.

It doesn't really work that well as a speaker phone but that's not why I bought it.
