This is a very attractive condo and I applaud the use of recycled buildings and materials. I do think that it's sad that, from the inside of the unit you would never know you were in an old school. Schools of that era have so much charm and visual interest. This condo could be housed in any exterior. This lack of context is disappointing.

God, I hope that those young, attractive people in the pictures don't actually live there.

I do like the wall art and the plants around the mirror.

How refreshing to see someone actually keep their mid-century, kitchen cabinetry and embrace the pink! What a great place.

Our "temporary" blinds have been up for years. I'm completely happy with them for now and, the ones I replaced were completely recyclable and left no residue behind. I think that these would make a great project for kids to decorate for their own rooms, too.

You did an amazing job with this space. It looks completely transformed and a much different level of quality than what you started with.

Your pictures are very lovingly taken. Given the slow speed of viewing, I would have to say that there are definitely too many that are impossible to place in the context of a house tour (but are nice pictures, nonetheless).

You did a wonderful job with this.

I'm really impressed by your tiling choices and the fact that you created so much storage. You'll be able to maintain your minimalist style with all of the cupboards you put in. It really looks healthy and welcoming - a great use of a small space. Also, your gleaming floors are gorgeous.

Those gleaming floors with the great lighting and white walls are fantastic. So jealous of your lovely bathroom and brick walls. Everything looks great. Clever use of a small space.

I know that in Seattle, the homeowner does all the maintenance - there's no risk of having the plants taken out. There are even guidelines as to what may or may not be planted.

We're working on developing an area that is not huge (but at least 45 square feet) from a dandelion field into a mass of rosemary, lavender, blue fescue, iris, cyanothis, mock orange and euphorbia. In just two years, it has already taken shape with literally no watering from us (just planting during the wettest parts of the year). I would love to see tiny, urban forests all over the neighborhood.

You two are incredibly clever. What a relief it is to see an original, interesting kitchen that actually reflects the owners' style. If I see another marble countertop, I'm going to vomit.

I love everything you've done. The space looks incredibly inviting and innovative. I love your mix of modern and very old looks, which does, completely work and isn't the usual combination of 2008 with 1964, but rather 1890 with 2008. Great job.

I think that your bathroom will look more "luxe" if you paint the walls a deep neutral (I think that a rich, blue-grey could easily work). Use a very simple window treatment in the same color as the towels, bathmat and bath curtain. Get the best quality linens you can afford. Also, eliminate all clutter.

It already looks very interesting and has a ton of potential with those old tiles and high ceiling.

You have created a very serene, relaxing environmant. I love that you used your creativity (instead of just a wallet) and kept the look spare and clean. Also, this is an excellent use of white with dark woods. The whole thing is lovely.

I love your bathroom floor! The punches of color throughout the apartment are fantastic (like the hot pink blender!).

My husband and I were looking to quickly (and cheaply) renovate a once-flooded basement into a temporary TV/lounge space. We found an amazing, attractive, bamboo "rug" which is easy to vacuum and not easily damaged (in case of future flooding). It filled most of the room and cost us $110.

For "Trading Spaces," I think that the results are unusually tasteful and retrained. At least there aren't any obvious, spray-painted macaroni crafts on the walls.

Thank you so much! These are great ideas. I would never have known not to use MDF. We have a giant, drooly dog, so mopping is a necessity.

This is a wonderful home that looks stylish and still very comfortable.

I'm curious about the bathroom floor. I've had my eyes on a similar product and am try to find a way to use it that will be practical (backsplash? shower basin?). Can you please tell me, is it easy to keep clean?
