we used (and loved) the arm's reach mini co-sleeper until our son (at 4 months) outgrew it. we mean to transition him into the crib but somehow ended up with him in our bed. oops! whatever works!

hi! the main photo is my entryway. the mail sorter thingy is from ikea, the mirror was from j.c. penney (of all places) and the shoe rack was also from ikea. the hooks are from anthropologie and the chair is vintage. not sure of any if these things are still available, sorry!

I'm attempting to make my first savory italian easter pie this sunday with my husband's grandmother's recipe. She hadn't made it in years and recently passed away so we're making it in her honor. Everyone in his family is very excited about it so I hope it turns out well! There are 6 lbs. of cheese (ricotta, mozzarella and "basket cheese") along with 4 1/2 lbs of meat (sweet italian sausage and proscuitto) and 6 hard-boiled eggs, so this is one big pie! Cross your fingers for me. :)

i have found that i find better prices if i don't search by "mid century" or "danish." usually people using those keywords know what things are worth and sell them accordingly, especially in bigger cities. i managed to score an entire mid-century dining room set (table with two leaves, 8 chairs, and a hutch) for $50 because the woman listing it didn't know what she had (granted it wasn't any known designer, but the style and condition alone made it worth at least 10 times that in my opinion.) i felt slightly guilty but she seemed glad to have it taken off her hands and i got a very nice dining room set for less than what i would have spent at ikea! i would feel bad buying something for less than i know it's worth only if my intention was to re-sell for a profit. if you buy it and use it and it makes you happy, i think that's just good karma coming back to you.

my family always had cookies and coffee on christmas morning. my favorite are the "fat sugar cookies" that my mom makes every year.

made this tart and it was a hit. looked and tasted beautiful. there was only one thing- in the photo the onions are whole, but the recipe called for the onions to be quartered. i left mine whole and while they looked beautiful in the tart it was a bit too much to take a bite of. i would quarter them next time.
