You can defiantly freeze the actual cupcakes for a bit but it is best to frost the day of if possible. If you get one of those squeezey pastry bags it really shouldn't take that long at all. I really cant see a scenario where you can make frosting a few days ahead of time and it stay fresh but hey maybe someone has some ideas!

I can't say I go through this really but my guess would be its due to all the heavy cooking you have to do during the winter. Holidays and cold weather make it hard to go out to eat so often you are forced to cook at home nightly. Once the weather is nice you want to go out, be social, go to outdoor cafes and enjoy a night out. Just my thoughts!

First off, I'd like to attend this party. Secondly, yes, ration off about 2 veggies per veggie guest so they have enough. Thirdly (that's probably not a word) take your budget into consideration when deciding how much to make; keeping in mind beef will be your cheapest to make and also probably the most popular. Fourthly (again not a word) I basically just repeated with everyone else said.

Have fun!

TUNA! Obiously not for every meal but if you can manage a cooler I would pack it up with some cooked whole wheat pasta, chopped up veggies, whatever condiments you prefer and throw some tuna in there when your ready to eat.

You can also make tuna melts on a tortilla with some veggies and cheese (from the cooler of course) and heat it up with the hair dryer.

I mean realistically with a cooler the sky is the limit.

It's no hosts responsibility to provide Alcohol to guests, they should be grateful for any refreshment you make for them. I typically stay away from BYOB unless its a super casual situation.

What to Serve When You Don't Drink But Your Guests Do
4/9/13 3:23 PM

I know this was posted yesterday so you may not even see this but you can simply just say "come over for some drinks". I wouldn't mention anything about food. This is typically what I do and people show up Post-Dinner. Of course I have snacks but they don't come expecting any heavy foods if I just tell them to come over for cocktails.

Also I agree that if it's cocktails 8 may be a bit early. I would push it to 9, although I eat at 7 not everyone does.

The Un-Dinner Dinner Party: How Much Food Should You Prepare?

Instead of being a total B to you I'll make some helpful suggestions.

Something that could be close to a shot but still have class would be to have a Cordial. I know they are typically served after dinner but this is defiantly a classier alternative to just a shot. Below is a link to what a Cordial sip glass would look like. They are typically the same amt of a shot but you sip and enjoy it instead of shooting it.

You use more flavorful liquors for this, like Campari, Amaretti. American Fruits products have some great choices (link below)
