Don't let Storage Wars freak you out as long as you plan to pay your bill :)

I got a storage unit several years ago. My house is tiny (725 sq ft, four rooms, no basement). I use the unit to store things like camping gear, seasonal decorations, seasonal clothing, and large kitchen items (like appliances that aren't used often, and entertaining pieces like platters and glassware).

When I put my house on the market, I got a second, smaller, unit so that I could seriously declutter and just throw boxes of anything into. My house didn't sell as quickly as I wanted, so I was very glad that I had taken time to label those boxes as they were packed!

Looking around the recipes on the Franks Red Hot site, they have a whole section of healthy recipes. I'm going to have to try this one:

We make it with white meat chicken, and low-fat dressing and cheese. Serve with celery sticks for dipping. Not the healthiest food out there, but better for you than the real thing!

What?!? The mulch is exactly what draws critters *to* my garden! Cats think it's a giant litter box and squirrels see it as perfect loose bedding to bury their treasures in! Using landscape rocks/gravel is the only thing that keeps them out around here :(

You're only a drive away from Cave City?? That's my childhood stomping grounds! In fact, I was just there this past weekend, perusing the awesome farmer stands that spring up on Saturdays. I picked up squashes, new potatoes, tree-ripened peaches, and two quarts of amazingly juicy blackberries!

The sock idea is dangerous. You should never wrap electric wires in something that is flammable or something that would hold in heat. This is both and could cause a fire!

@clothandcake-
When my dad poured a patio behind our house when I was a child, he poured a bit of the leftover concrete into a frizbee and had me write my name in it. Perfect size for a stepping stone, and now I have it at my own house.

Using palettes with small depressions instead of large wells will prompt you/them to squeeze less out of the bottle, too.

I grew up with bunkbeds (which were my dad's when he was a kid). Since I was an only child, I would switch which bunk I wanted to sleep on every year or so. Since each bunk had fitted plywood, whichever bunk didn't have the mattress was used for toy storage. It worked great!

My neighborhood cats like to use my gardens as litterboxes, too. How can I get them to stop without covering the lovely garden in pavers?

That's fine for storage of unused cords, but make sure not to use insulation for wrangling cords that are plugged in - they could overheat and cause a fire!

The sonic repellers do work, but only for a while. Eventually, the pests get used to them and come back. Also, some humans (like me) can hear them and it's *really* annoying.
But they're good to drive out the pests and then do like @lella and plug every possible entry point (like holes around water pipes) with steel wool to keep them from coming back.

If you're going to capture and release, be sure to release it very far away. If it's close enough to come back in, it will.

Since ragweed is pretty bad right now, I can't just open the windows without inviting a sinus headache. Instead, I turn my A/C unit to "fan only" with the cooling part off. That way, it saves energy but I still get the filtered air circulation.

@mdorothy- I learned the hard way that Coinstar uses thermal paper for their receipts. Always write down the redemption code somewhere immediately, because if you stuff it in your pocket like I did, the code fades away and becomes unreadable.
