For anyone in the Boston area, I just got a patio set (two chairs & glass topped table) at Christmas Tree Shop for $60. Combined with a patio rug from World Market that was about $40, and my unused second floor front porch is now the place to hang out for $100.

I have the Brimnes and have had it for two years now. The storage is great - the drawers are really deep. I use one drawer for all of our extra sheet sets and pillowcases, which is so convenient. I use another for all of my summer clothes in winter and winter in summer, so I never have to put boxes in our attic. I use another drawer to stash gifts and other miscellaneous stuff.

I do notice the bed is a little creaky occasionally now that we've had it for a couple years and I am hoping it's not too weak for years of use. The extra brackets are a good idea, maybe I should install them.

We have a memory foam mattress on it, I've never liked the Ikea mattresses.

I put some campari in buttercream frosting to make a lemon cake with campari frosting last summer, it was a hit! I just used a few tablespoons as the liquid at the end of making the frosting.

Too bad Paprika doesn't have a PC version. I don't have a Mac and I've been looking for a solution to this for a while - I have hundreds of recipes in Word docs saved in file folders on my computer. Have to find another way. I was actually uploading many to Blurb.com to make my own printed cookbook, figuring that was easier to use in the kitchen.

These were in almost every house in Italy when I lived there - took a while for me to figure out what it even was, but then I would always refill them and appreciated them. Now we have forced air heat in the States so unfortunately we can't do this anymore!

I agree a "Moka" (stovetop espresso maker) is the best thing to buy - but do know Bialetti is no longer made in Italy.

Do NOT buy the Instahang! It is totally useless - the nails don't come out when you push the button on it basically, so there's no point to it at all. I can't believe we fell for it and wasted the money on it!

Blue tiles. The blue pitcher and vase give a nice punch to the room just by being in the picture, so maybe a light blue with some other accent colors mixed in.
