I'm with @hakroon, drink what you like. I can't imagine publicly questioning someone's drink choice. Well, maybe if a person ordered a Zima or something. Do they still make that?!

I had a bag of Meyer lemons leftover last week that I made lemon drop cocktails with on Friday night and they were delicious.

With all the "anecdata" offered on the original post, I'm surprised that your sister didn't cure cancer or something.

I'm so glad to hear the cats found an appropriate home!

Even aside from the spills, I find it difficult to get my chair in/out when there is a rug underneath. Maybe I'm just chair-challenged.

My husband works in the automotive business and we've had items like this done by auto body refinishers he knows. So that is another source to look for.

I use Fabric.com and Hawthorne Threads regularly. I also use Girl Charlee for knits and Hart's Fabrics as well.

I recently ordered from Mixbook, and while it was okay for the use I needed, (a small book for my grandmother, who couldn't care less about "photo quality"), I wouldn't recommend it. I have also used them for greeting cards though and those were excellent.

Agreed. Unless the kitchen is on fire, I can't imagine telling someone other than my mother or sisters how to cook.

I like the flexible ones, e.g.:

Well said. I work with many different religions, ethnicities, etc. and I view the holiday gift exchanging among direct co-workers not as a "I'm celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and here's a gift for it" but as a thank you for a year's worth of work. I always give edible, homemade gifts: brownies, cinnamon rolls, muffins, etc. I will either print the recipe or provide a link to where I got it so everyone can see the ingredients. If they can't eat it, they are welcome to re-gift it or leave it out in a breakroom (we have several) for someone else to enjoy.

My 4yo is very into babies so she has a few Corolle dolls. They are beautiful. She also loves to play dress up, esp. jewelry, so I went to town at H&M for her stocking this year.

I wrap gifts like this. I use Kraft paper and green/red/white yarn, writing recipient names directly onto the paper with a Sharpie. My tree is definitely not minimalist, and the brown paper packages look amazing underneath. (If I do say so myself!)

Cooking is for cooking, play kitchens are for make believe. They are two different sets of "skills," if you will.

My daughter's play kitchen is stocked almost exclusively with empty boxes and containers from the real kitchen. Cereal boxes, milk cartons, tin cans.

Of all the things there are to worry about when raising a child, how she decorates her room is the last on my list. Short of actual demolition, as long as it is easily painted over, etc., I couldn't care less. You have the rest of your life to be "tasteful."

The Ting Tings are a hit at my house. We love their song Hands. I'm kinda embarrassed to admit it, but the guys behind Yo Gabba Gabba are responsible for many of the bands I listen to today.
