how is buying from friends/relatives better than buying from CL... because you personally know the person who's had sex on it, drooled on it, etc...? That doesn't make any sense.

I bought my first bed in 2007 from a thrift store, it was refurbished and wrapped in plastic, pristine white. Everything for $100... thinking I would buy a new top mattress in a couple years when I could afford a better one, 4 years later and I still don't really have the extra cash... but this article is reminding me to put that closer to the top of my list.
