I wanted to joke and say I preferred the before, but I couldn't bring myself to do so. Great job!

I just made the pleated strip quilt as a baby gift using a jelly roll for the non-pleated strips and it was so cute and easy!

That rocker is the stuff dreams are made of. (I never thought I'd say anything like that about a rocking chair.)

I'm devastated that you ruined that beautiful "before" dresser!

Just kidding! I think your revamp is so much fun. :)

I really like the transformation; they look so much better now. I think it's funny how worked up people get over pieces of furniture they don't even have to live with. If you want to paint and reupholster a piece, and if doing so will make you enjoy it more, I say go for it!

The after makes me smile. I'm on the lookout for a piano to paint!

I hate parquet, too, so I feel your pain. I think your idea of curtains instead of doors is an excellent one (I did that in my first apartment with my husband because the closet doors wouldn't close in front of the washer and dryer.) It can really soften the space, too.

I'd cover the parquet with a rug. Craigslist can be a great resource for large, inexpensive rugs. Depending on your taste, Ikea has some really good options, too. We have a couple of large, fairly neutral rugs from Ikea that we put down to protect our hardwood from the dogs, each for under $100. They have really held up well over the last couple of years, and while they aren't statement pieces, they aren't garish so they just kind of blend into the room.

It's a clever idea, but I couldn't eat it even though I have an enormous sweet tooth. Maybe if the sausage looked a little more cartoon-ish and a little less fecal.

I don't really understand how yarn-wrapped pine cones have any connection with coral and driftwood, but to each his/her own, I suppose. Maybe it looks better in person? It looks to me like an elementary school winter craft.

I was never an asparagus fan until I tried Smitten Kitchen's shaved asparagus pizza. (http://smittenkitchen.com/2010/05/shaved-asparagus-pizza/) Now it's my all-time favorite pizza and I make it constantly while asparagus is in season.

I think it looks great. I hated the before, and I probably would have passed it up in the thrift store. Kudos to Cassie for having the forethought and imagination to see that it could be pretty!

Also, I'd hate to see the homes of all these people that preferred the "before" picture.

I think it looks both peaceful and vibrant at the same time - great job.

Also, I think that the turquoise looks great on the wall.

This tour makes me happy! I love color, but I am far to chicken to try this much. I would, however, LOVE to hang out there all the time. How could you be glum in a happy place like this?
