Sometimes I make an extra large batch of pancakes on Sunday and individually freeze them. Then during the week I can just pop the pancake into the toaster to defrost. Easy, quick, and the toaster adds a nice crunch to an otherwise fluffy pancake. I also celebrate the Jewish Shabbot, so there is no cooking Saturday morning. On Friday I make those egg quiches with fresh corn, havarti cheese and fresh basil. They are perfect for breakfast on Saturday- even at room temperature. 10 Make-Ahead Breakfasts to Start Your Day Off Right |

My 6 year old loves to draw, but he isnt appreciative of a nice sketchbook, so I like to fold computer paper in half and then cover it with some construction paper. The little booklets are about 6 pages long. Then he draws to his hearts content and when he is done I ask him what the pictures are. I write down the story (or have him do it) and then store the books in a large plastic contain that has all of the art and schoolwork I decide to save. But for older kids, I think the nice sketchbook is a lovely idea. Encourage Budding Artists With Bound Sketchbooks |

I concur with the other posters that the loft should have been bigger to accommodate either two or three of the kids so there was more play space on the floor. If you are going to custom make something, why not add even more space? I also thought desks were an odd choice for such young kids. My eldest is 9 and he doesn't need a desk- he does his homework at the kitchen table. I would have thought they would have put up shelves to store the toys and the kids' clothing. I really liked how the colors of the bed covers and dots were reflected in the art piece. Home By Novogratz: Episode 8* *Now With Added Nursery Relevance! |

I have a few vintage bowls and a 3 tiered dessert tray that I use to display my produce. But I love the idea of really doing a still life- usually just throw the produce in the bowls willy-nilly. Here in Southern California it gets too hot to put herbs out on the counter, but maybe I will add some fresh cut flowers! Wonderful inspiration. Kitchen Artistry: A Post-Farmers' Market Still Life |

I love cooking for Shabbos, and I especially enjoy not having to cook ON Shabbos. I like having to be creative to come up with delish dishes within the structure of Shabbos rules. I posted a few of my favorites on the original article if anyone is looking for inspiration. Observing Shabbat: When the Cook Can't Cook Tablet |
