I can't stand that the current trend in phones is to make them bigger. My options when I bought my last phone were severely limited because I didn't want a huge phone. At the time, the top phone was the Thunderbolt and whatever other 2 were popular at the time. I went with the Sony Xperia Play because it was smaller, albeit thicker. I actually almost picked up the HTC Trophy because it was the perfect size for me, but I just wasn't sure about the OS. Pros & Cons of Bigger Smartphone Screens |

I got rid of all my physical media except for vinyl records, which I store in an Ikea Expedit. I have only a few books that currently aren't offered on Kindle (once they are, I'll sell my hard copies). My place is minimal, but not bare. I do not recommend buying any turntable from Urban Outfitters or anything that remotely resembles the turntable pictured above. If you really want to buy a turntable and don't have much to spend, please look in the used market for an actual vintage turntable. They can be had for less and will sound WAY better. And there are other ways to convert vinyl to mp3 than using USB (go from stereo/standalone pre-amp to line-in on computer for example). It kills me every time I see those things for sale and uninformed people buying them. There is a reason turntables were never made out of cheap flimsly plastic. My drip maker has a burr grinder and I love what it produces. Not as much as french press or vac-pot, but it's so much easier that I use it 90% of the time. I recently bought an Aeropress and then quickly returned it because I felt it produces a thin cup with greatly reduced flavor compared to my previously mentioned methods. I usually only use price-checking apps when in big-box stores and for larger items. When I shop local (and I do), I don't mind spending a few extra dollars. I bought as much as I could from local shops this year for xmas. Is Amazon's New Offer an Attack on Local Business? |

I don't know why this is surprising. How many years/decades have companies told us their voice recognition works amazingly only to find out it doesn't work at all. Why iPhone 4S Siri-ously Doesn't Live Up to the Hype |

I use my Dell Mini9 w/ Linux XFCE. Still works great even though it's several years old. I doubt I'll ever buy a tablet. I just don't get them. Maximum Portability, Minimum Size and Price: NetBooks |

I believe you meant to write about the Sony Xperia Play, which is a different phone than the regular Xperia and looks a lot different than the picture you posted. The Play has a game pad instead of a slide-out keyboard. Do Portable Gaming Systems Matter Anymore? |
