I desperately need to do this, and actually started a week ago by cleaning out my fridge, but I am going out of town for four days starting tomorrow for a funeral, so this will be put off, yet again. Thanks! I just printed it. This could be just the thing to spur me to get my piece framed. Day 6: Choose a Piece of Artwork & Get Going on Framing It Apartment Therapy January Cure |

I have a large photo of me as a child with my late grandparents' late Saint Bernard that is in desperate need of framing and hanging. I think I will have it professionally framed, since it is a large, slightly odd size. Day 6: Choose a Piece of Artwork & Get Going on Framing It Apartment Therapy January Cure |

I took before photos, which I'm unlikely to show because they are mortifying, and began pecking away at the clutter in my office/writing/knitting room. I tossed a few things, moved several stacks of books downstairs to the bookcase, moved a box one floor closer to the basement (though am having second thoughts about putting it there), and managed to keep my wing chair clear of stuff, which makes me happy when I peer into the room. I still have a long road ahead, but I did enough (despite still recovering from the flu, which is making everything go so much more slowly than it should) to be able to see a difference, so am heartened. I sat in my small wing chair in my office. When I first moved into my house, I sat there all of the time to read or knit or write letters. Tonight, I had to spend a few minutes clearing it off before I could sit down. The entire room has been taken over by clutter over the past year and a half. I don't do anything productive in there anymore and it made me very sad and overwhelmed. I'm not sure where to begin. I also discovered that the tension rods from two apartments ago are too long for the narrow windows in my office and dining room, so I won't be able to hang curtains until I get new ones. I'll be sitting in my reading chair in my office. I used to sit and read there quite often, but the entire room has been reduced to a clutter catch-all over the past year or so. It is long past time to reclaim it. Day 4: Get a Fresh Perspective in Just 10 Minutes Apartment Therapy January Cure |

I won't be able to make my list until I get home, but de-cluttering will be a large component in every room. Day 1: Tara's List Liveblogging the January Cure |

Five months and counting. I bought a house for the first time. I have more space than I've ever had, and I have no idea where I want anything to go. I have barely any furniture and have no art on the walls. It could be years at this rate. :( How Long Does it Take You to Get Settled? |

I have one of these in my apartment, it was about the only way it would fit in my tiny bathroom. Apartment Therapy New York | Look!: Corner ToiletBoston |

My biggest fear of cooking on the fly is that of coming up with something inedible. Of course, the irony is that I buy things I think I would like to eat, but put off cooking them for fear of not being able to eat the end result, and end up not being able to eat them anyway because they've gone south in the meantime. I just began reading this for the first time on Tuesday, and I read those passages last night. I'm only six or seven chapters in, but am already thoroughly enjoying it. Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | The Hungry Reader: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn |
