Its funny I'm reading this on what would have been my 6th wedding anniversary...would have been. The idea of a party was completely incompatible to the loss and sadness I felt at the time I divorced. I imagine different people react to breakups in an infinite possibility of ways. Perhaps for a certain subset, they find cause for celebration. For me, it was as devestating as a death. A friend bringing me food, or inviting me for coffee might have been more appropriate in my case.

That said, the saddest moment was when I returned home (after his moving truck had gutted things) and thought to make some simple spaghetti for dinner only to realize I did not own a pot to boil water in. Talk about so sad you could cry! There is something healing in the rebuilding process, the being able to buy a pot to suit your particular wants and needs. So although it took some time, I love that I now have a kitchen full of pots and pans that suite me perfectly.
