It's pretty but I'm not sure #6 belongs on this list. Nothing says sexy-time like a crib in the bedroom and your kid's toys on the bed???

Amen, MSCHATELAINE. I think it would be great if the websites setting the style trends were also setting the safety trends. People look to these sites as how-to's for nursery set-up. I wish that they would stop featuring unsafe nurseries, staged or not. AT has a great opportunity to set this president by bumping the bumpers off this site.

I'm happy everyone seems to like the paint scheme. I, coincidentally, have very similar colors in my home but have recently been second guessing my choices. These positive comments confirm that we all have fabulous taste. :)

Sticky lint rollers can also be used to help clean up glitter. I emphasize the word "help". There is still no know cure for this malady.

I know that, sometimes, apartment dwellers have no choice but to park their bikes in the living room but often these bikes appear to just be props. Not sure why, but this really bugs the crap outta me. Do these people actually ride these bikes? If so how are they kept so clean? My bike gets dirty and it lives in the garage. Anyone else sick of the bike as decor trend?

So refreshing to see woodwork that hasn't been painted white! It brings such warmth and richness to the home. What a beautiful home, how do you ever make it out the front door? I'd never want to leave.

I agree with Pearmelon. I see chartreuse with these colors. Maybe something like this...

We love all the Putamayo albums. My daughter falls asleep to either Acoustic Dreamland or African Dreamland every night. By day, we boogie to the Playground albums featuring popular musicians from around the world. A Jazz and Blues Christmas has been on repeat for a week, or so, on the car stereo. It's all very kid and more importantly parent friendly music.

I buy almost all of my daughter's toys secondhand. As a result she has a whole preschool's worth of toys for the cost of maybe four new ones. Just last week I scored a $400 sensory table for $3.99! I always give everything a good scrub and check online for any recalls. Then, it's on to the playroom. I'd rather spend my money on things she really needs than the hottest toy of the season.

I agree with you completely, emily kiana. I think that it would be awesome if design sites stopped featuring and promoting products that, pretty or not, are unsafe for children. Last month, I contacted Ohdeedoh with my concerns and received this response from Carrie at Apartment Therapy, "Even though the hazards of crib bumpers have been known for many years I think it will take both the general public and bedding companies a while, unfortunately, to fully get on board with the AAP's recommendation." I love this website and know that it could help get the general public and bedding companies "on board" by only featuring and promoting designs and products that fit within AAP recommendations.

I've used tin foil to mask awkward things, as well. It works like a charm to cover the heating elements of baseboard heaters or radiators while painting.
