Mcintire has the right idea. Start thrifting for the right size chest or dresser and get rid of the counter. You would have so much more storage this way that you could get rid of the medicine cabinet entirely. Relace the large mirror with a decorative one. Then just display baubles or costume jewelry on the top of the chest. Gorgeous lighting will make all the difference as well. How To Make Bedroom Vanity Less Bathroom-Like? Good Questions |

My son was born seven weeks early and was in the NICU for two weeks. I had preeclampsia and postpartum preeclampsia. By the time I left the hospital myself, I was so weak with physical and emotional exhaustion. I had a csection and was still very swollen, and it was an incredibly difficult recovery. I can't imagine what it would have been like to go through that with twins; Twice the heartache of having to leave your babies at the hospital. Bed time is 7:30, so I shower after he's asleep and that gives me plenty of time for my hair to dry before I go to bed. I wake up with clean hair and it only takes about ten or fifteen minutes to straighten it and throw on some war paint before I wake him up. So much easier than the 1 hr shower, blow dry, straighten, make up, and clothes routine from my pre baby past life. If I can stretch it to every other day, even better! Baby powder is amazing for my greasy hair days. ;) How's a New Mom Supposed to Get a Shower? |

Great idea! Although mailing tubes would probably fit the bill a little better. I see the paper towel tube getting crumpled itself in no time the way kiddos treat their backpacks. Bonus: they have caps so that unsealed ziploc of trail mix doesn't turn the masterpiece into mixed media. How To: Make An Art Tube For The Backpack Curly Birds |

Peg boards are amazing to get organized, and cheap too. They make a thing called a "sticker on a roll shelf" for peg boards/ slat walls that they use at scrap book stores. it works wonders for ribbon and small rolls of kraft/ wrapping paper. For markers, crayons, tools, and odds and ends... I use the making memories brand desktop carousel. I got mine at michaels in the scrapbook organization section. Small rubbermaid containers with drawers work for paper and other larger supplies like stamps, glue sticks, etc. Google craft room or craft storage to get more ideas.
