After my home was burglarized I got a tip from a cop for hiding jewelry: put it in a tampon box. Burglars want nothing to do with that.

As a young pup I saw digital opacity windows (not sure what they called them exactly) demo'd by the R&D dept at my dad's company party in 1987. I fell in love with the idea and have been waiting... and waiting.. and waiting for the the tech to become available commercially. And reasonably priced.

This is a good start, but I'm leery of the janky nature of the do-it-yerself film application. I've installed frosted film before and know it can wrinkle, bubble, and is always subject scratches and peeling.

I think you can work with it. The existing colors say 'Art Nouveau' to me -- specifically, Alphonse Mucha. Use these paintings as a starting point: identify the colors you can't change (tile, fixtures) and find a color that seems to work well with them for the walls....

THANK YOU for posting a room with some color and cohesion. This is a very nice room. This is a room I would be happy to have in my house. Nicely done. I will upvote it.

On the other hand, I can't say I understand most of these other entries (or the glowing comments)

The thing on the bed is super distracting in a bad way, but I'd love to see a clear shot of that painting over the bed. It looks interesting.

Love it! It's the right amount of historic, modern, and spooky (don't be offended by that word.) I'm doing something similar at the moment and hope to share within the year. Keep it up!! :)

Gotta be honest... the clutter makes me anxious. Why is there a knife block on top of a gas range grill? I don't get it.
