Mmmm I'm going make this but with almonds (my husband has an adverse reaction to hazelnuts). I would probably splurge and use peanut, almond or coconut oil for this recipe.

So this isn't just traditional whole grain mustard, available in most big supermarkets? Am I missing something? Don't get me wrong, this sounds delicious, but this can't be a new discovery.

If you have a good peeler, a butternut is easy to peel while whole, and then I would cube it. Other squashes are not as easy to peel, I've found. If I'm roasting it for mash or puree, I leave the skin on while I roast it, than scoop it away from the skin.

This is such a dumb controversy-how many of these "concerned" parents have a lame tattoo that they got in college 10 years ago? Kids LOVE the idea of tattoos- why do people think they like drawing on themselves? A couple years ago we stopped in a McD's (really, we only do this on the road to Grandma's) and the kids' meal toys were tattooed My Little Ponies (the designs were actually inspired by tattoo art) and Bionicle robot things. My son REALLY wanted the tattooed pony, but they wouldn't give him one, because they were for "girls only." He had a big sad face after that. Bastards.

Anyway, Barbie looks great. Whatevs.

This is right up there with "Peel a whole head of garlic in 10 seconds" for usefulness. We love pomegranates, but I've been guilty of seed murder for years now. No longer...

For those concerned about the chemicals: Fruit soap is actually a thing in countries where tap water is not potable. When I visit my in-laws in Mexico, we soak lettuce, veggies and soft skinned fruits (like grapes, for example) in a solution of water and Fruit rinse- which both kills microcritters and removes pesticides.

This is a totally neat idea.

It's gorgeous, I wouldn't buy a highchair without a safety belt (just one that goes around the waist).

I made this last night, and I used a whole 28 oz can of tomatoes, and used only a little water and broth to thin it. It was really good, and because my food processor is not so great, there were some pleasantly chewy little bits (from the celery and onion).

Ooh I wish I had some hot cider right now- it's raining like the dickens! I like to drink cider warm when my annual sore throat-a-thon rears its head- apples have throat-soothing qualities.

I didn't think "slow food" and "locavore movement" were actually "trends"-- but how it was done until about 60 years ago.

If you think about it, bazillions people have died all over the face of the earth, at some point someone or something died on or about the piece of land you're living on. I grew up in a house where someone died in the front lawn, after being thrown from a car in an accident, just a few years before my family moved in. Our family has lived there since the mid 70's, with nary a paranormal disturbance, and we had an idyllic childhood, the lawn never tormented us with its tragic grass- I mean past. This is an old New England town, where you can't swing a cat without hitting a so-called "haunted" house.

It's nice that you feel sad for a stranger's tragedy, but don't let it keep you from what could be a great place for you and your family.

Wow, this sounds amazing! Here's another filling idea: spicy roasted potatoes. Cut your roasting potatoes (blue, pink, fingerling, red) into little cubes (about 1/2 inch), toss in a little olive oil and cumin and roast for 15-20 minutes at 400F, or until done on the inside and delightfully crispy but not burnt. Toss in some chipotle powder (or your favorite kind of chili powder) and salt to taste. I find that chili powders burn too easily so I add them after I roast. This could be a taco or a burrito filling.

Twinings is horrible anyway. When I want to feel British, it's PG Tips or Taylor's of Harrogate. The best tea I've ever had comes from peets.com (yes, that's the West Coast based coffee chain's website). It's a bit pricey and it's likely you'll have to get it shipped, but you can get tea in bulk and it is all top-notch stuff.

The other day I topped an ice cream cone with the $1.99 version of Lucky Charms- known as Marshmallow Mateys (which is nautical/pirate themed AARGH)- in lieu of sprinkles, and it was great. I actually think the cheap-o version might be tastier than the big brand.

If I may suggest something: maybe one could line the cups in a muffin pan with greased wax paper and press a layer of cereal-marshmallow mixture into it to form the circular shape.
