Another great method that has become my default... Heat oven to 400° F. Season the chicken with 1/4 tsp each of salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp of the oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 2 minutes per side then transfer the chicken to the oven and roast for 8 minutes. You can also get adventurous with spices, rubs, and marinades. Bottom line is that it's very quick and it comes out super moist every time.

My personal favorites are the locations for NYC. Apparently, Williamsburg is just as big as Manhattan these days (at least according to brokers/realtors). Or saying that the apartment is "steps to a train" but really meaning it's a twenty minute walk.

I have that exact dishwasher! It may not dry the dishes very well but otherwise it has been a lifesaver!

I have a pretty sweet deal right now, considering I live alone in New York (well, Brooklyn). I pay $1,000/month for a 200sqft studio with a lofted sleeping area and a storage loft above the bathroom and ALL OF MY UTILITIES INCLUDED. The only thing I pay out of pocket is internet.

I've been "filing" my shirts vertically for almost a year now and I've never had a problem. But then again I have quite a large collection of t-shirts and once they've been upright and squished in long enough, they manage to stay standing even when things get a little roomier in the drawer.

As for folding, there was a bit of experimentation to get things to fit and look just right but after working retail for so many years, one knows a couple different ways to fold a shirt.

I have been looking everywhere for the hanging jars in the first photo. Can someone please point me to where I can find them?

Count me into the desk fanclub. It breaks my heart a little bit that the original owner didn't know where it was from but I'm sure it could be a fun (albeit slightly time consuming) DIY project.

001. Outlets are a must! Especially in the bedroom. My first apartment in Brooklyn only had one single outlet in the bedroom...right behind the door. I would be crouching in a corner just to do my hair.

002. Toilet in the unit. This may seem like an obvious thing but my second Brooklyn apartment shared a toilet with an art gallery that I lived behind which was totally fine until they started throwing raging parties and there was a line of loud kids in the hallway trying to get into my apartment cuz they thought I was another bathroom. I also love that I no longer have to put on shoes (or pants, for that matter) just to run to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

003. Oven. Some people can live just fine with a hot plate and a microwave. I am not one of those people. I enjoy cooking. A lot.

004. Laundromat and 24-hour bodega within a two- (maximum three-) block radius. Schlepping eight blocks with 20 lbs of laundry is not fun and doing it more often to lighten the load just isn't an option and delivery services are much too expensive. As for bodegas, sometimes I just really want Ben & Jerry's and Spaghetti-Os at 2 in the morning.

005. The closer to the subway, the better. Every place I have lived has been within 1 to 3 blocks away. Less walking time = less travel time (which is fantastic when bopping about in heels after a hellacious day or night).

006. Dog-friendly. As much as my mother adores having my little chihuahua when my living situation doesn't allow me to keep her, I don't like going through long stretches of time without her.

One of my friends hung her sundresses across a wall of her bedroom. They weren't flat against the wall and laid out but actually HUNG through the straps using rather long nails. It didn't seem pretentious at all...more like a rainbow of fabric flowing from one end of the room to another.

I meant to add to put the aloe vera gel in the fridge. It was a lifesaver last summer.
