This is great! My family is from Europe, and I've been doing this for years with my Americanized husband. Funny memory... Hubby, at first, was very worried about what his mum would think. He still likes being able to scoot closer to me under one big comforter, but I love to burrito myself. Marital woes...

I grew up eating favas in Poland, where the vegetable stands sell them already shelled, in five kilo bags. I miss that.

That's funny... I got this exact chest from Crate & Barrel a couple of years ago. Wine doesn't stay around long in our house, but it would be a great place to put the screw-tops and plastic corks... although sometimes I have trouble with a lot of the slightly taller bottles not being able to fit underneath the beams of top doors, so there's a lot of shuffling around. I wonder if they sell the matching end-"tables."

I've replaced my Kitchenaid oven's knobs twice because they've melted when I've top broiled with the oven door open. It took me that long to check the manual, which stated to keep the door closed when broiling.

But when I do broil, it helps to have an open window and a fan pointed out.
