I agree with the premise of this post, but these examples help me NONE. I'm not a fan of monochromatic palettes or clean lined, modern furnishings. Does that mean that I'm doomed to have my electronics stick out like sore thumbs? TLA Is Home At Last House Call |

The biggest fight my fiance and I have ever had started at IKEA and l lasted HOURS afterward. I mean door-slamming, shouting obscenities across the parking lot, flurries of emails back and forth when he went to work the night shift. Within 24 hours we were laughing about it and learned the following things. IKEA Meltdowns: Do They Happen To You? |

I dice up half or a quarter of a Granny Smith and add it to my tuna salad. Since I hate celery and never use it, this makes a huge difference in the texture! Tart & Green: Granny Smith ApplesIngredient Spotlight |

When I was studying in Scotland I LOVED using a sweet chili chutney on my cheddar and wheat grilled cheese. I haven't had luck finding it here, but I think the concept is still useful. 10 Alternatives to the Sliced Tomato in Your Winter Sandwich |

When I was a kid, we would sometimes bring our dogs inside for the night when the temperature dipped below 0 outside. I would get so excited and try to sit them all down in front of the TV and make them watch Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmations, All Dogs Go to Heaven...you name it. I think I even tried Aristocats. At least now I have SOME defense! And for the record, I would totally do this if I were leaving a dog inside for several hours. But you probably already figured that out. It's like they took the Tropicana straw-in-orange-now-drink-it too far. I would love it if this worked, I just can't imagine in any way that it would. Would You Buy This? Stem Lemon Spritzer |

I used a recipe like this one this past summer and it was amazing. I have a track record when it comes to screwing up baking, but this did the trick! I doubt I'll use any other kind of chocolate cake recipe again: if it works, stick with it. Try This! Put a Cup of Mayonnaise in Your Next Chocolate Cake |

Call me simple, but I bring flowers wherever I go. I usually find that the busy host/hostess meant to go out and get flowers but didn't have time because [insert catastrophe here] happened. Nothing to take care of or store and perfectly acceptable for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. Another cool idea is a simple group game like Apples to Apples, Bananagrams, or Sorry!. I think I'm going to make two 6-item lists. The first will be things I can do without buying anything, like another reader said, such as re-hanging a wall lamp my cat pulled down. The second will be larger projects like convincing my fiance that our kitchen would look better without the cabinet doors! Day 10: Make List of Top 6 Home Needs The 20/20 Home Cure |

Most of my 20 minutes will be spent figuring out what item I feel I can't live without but know I can. That's the hardest part of this. I can think of TONS of crap to get rid of, and I'm in the long process of doing so. But something special? That'll take a think. Day 4: Remove One Item and Set Up Outbox The 20/20 Home Cure |

I've finally come to the realization that many of the things I've kept are just reminding me of things I never did or a person I am not anymore. The heels that are too high for me to walk in (I never did strengthen my ankles to wear them), the stencils and paints (that was going to be a rockin' apron), the boxes and boxes of "office supplies" (I barely even use my desk now that I've graduated). I've learned that I'm not the kind of person who can let projects pile up. One at a time, girl. That's all you can handle. And you know what? That's okay. Get the other crap out of the way and pick a project! How To Declutter Your Home |

It's funny how the "20 minute" aspect really motivated me. How much of the Rangers game am I REALLY going to miss in 20 minutes? I did the 20/20 home cure last fall and had already forgotten how effective 20 minutes can be. I had NOT forgotten what a great idea using a trash can as a pail is! So, wait...just because you're from the East Coast and know what a "real" bagel tastes like, you want to take away my Lender's? That's just mean! It seems to me that most of the recent paint chip craft projects have been met with negative feedback. I've done one such project and hit up 3 different stores for a total of about 30 paint chips. However, I don't think I'd do that again because it just seems dishonest. Some of the projects above look like you could use some paint chips that you took for a legitimate, "I want to paint something," purpose. Those I think are great! What a great idea! It's always nice for someone else to try something out themselves rather than just say, "Hey guys, I saw this thing in a picture that looks really cool!" My only worry is for the wee bit of art in the upper left corner. Wouldn't the point of a "gallery" wall be to make the artwork easy to peruse? I worry that no one will be able to fully appreciate that small piece! How to Add Art to a Gallery Wall |

Since moving to Texas from Indiana I've been a bit less inspired. Something about celebrating fall holidays feels off when there's no fall color. I go all out for Christmas, though. I'm trying to figure out how to go from "I'm in college, Christmas may throw up all over my dorm room!!" to "I live with my fiance, have a job, and have design taste. Also, I like Christmas!" I agree with whoever suggested there be more holiday decorating stuff on this site. Better Homes and Gardens is great and all...but I don't want my home to look like my mom's. This post kind of hits home for me. When my fiance and I moved in together, I received so much pushback from my family that I didn't even want to think about a housewarming...not to mention the fact that I was in my last semester of grad school! Now I kind of wish we had, since that "just moved in together" phenomenon will never happen again. 9 Housewarming Gifts for Newlyweds |

I very much disagree with the naysayers. I think Unplgged has recognized content in the news that is pertinent to its users and posted it for us. I also don't think the title is misleading at all.
