Design or layout wise, I do think TV on top of a fire place is better looking than if you put it, say, next to the fireplace.

However it's a trend to mount TV quite high on the wall, whether there's a fireplace or not. I see this in the apartments in my home country ( a tropical country, by the way, so fireplace is not normally found in any house).

I myself don't like to put TV way above my eye level. Yes, I do find it uncomfortable and neck-straining. And I don't have the space to put a bulky recliner chair in my tiny apartment either.

This feels so, so serene. :)

My cat doesn't seem to mind the closed litter box. In fact, I notice that whenever he stresses out, he will go to his litter box, does his business there, and when he's done he'll go out happier.

I swear, they had moved an entire house AND its garden/backyard from Bali to London. This looks like a typical Bali home (though not a typical Bali native), and has more tropical feels. This house takes a lot of patience, but they made it. Kudos!
