I'm so curious to see what other folks have to say about this. We bought an 85 year old american foursquare last year, partly because of the location and partly because it's a nice, sturdy, older brick home with a bunch of original stainedglass windows. It did not work as is for our family, though, since we live in the kitchen, and we bought it intending to add a large addition behind the dining room for a family sized kitchen. Now all that stuff is done, but I have to decorate. What on earth do I do? aieee! What Is Contemporary Craftsman Style? |

I did some of these in the kitchen I just designed and built for our house, on the desk wall. I have a nice window over the sink looking into the back yard, but the side just looks into the neighbors house, so it seemed like a good plan. Mine don't open, though. I'm so glad to see this thread. I was just thinking about buying one for that tomato paste conserve thing that I think was here the other day. Also, the idea of them going through the dishwasher sounds fab, so thanks to whoever put that info in their comment! Should I Buy a Food Mill? |

I suspect if she is asking you, then it's become a partly emotional choice, and not really a logical one. That's OK, choosing things based on emotion and sentiment is a totally valid thing to do. In that case, I'd split the difference. Sell half of my Tiffany collection to add some Heath pieces. Would You Sell One Treasure to Buy Another? |

My dad actually reuses the k-cups themselves. he pops off the foil top, rinses out the coffee, fills it with ground coffee, and tops it with a piece of aluminum foil. uses them over and over again. K-Cups and Coffee Pod Systems: Love Them or No, Thanks? |

I was having a hard time committing to a tile color, and also spending a bunch of money (our kitchen is large), so I painted vertical stripes for a backsplash with some text over the stove. I love it! It really didn't take that long, and I can change it pretty much whenever I feel like it. Unique Backsplash for My Kitchen? Good Questions |

These are great pics! I am especially excited to see the kitchens with dark cabinets. I am starting to tire of white. Very awesome. 10 Kitchen Renovations Under $10,000 (Way Under!) |

The center my little boy attends does great with this. Homemade marinara sauce with pasta, risotto, chicken and cheesey rice casseroles, crunchy tacos are all favorites. The thing I keep in mind is that lots of foods have protein, so you don't need something that screams PROTEIN at each meal. It's everywhere! Healthy, Kid-Friendly Meal Ideas for 65 Preschoolers?
