You could also look for an upholstery class in your area. Sometimes you can bring your piece and fabric and use their equipment, receiving help along the way. Worth the Cost to Recover Vintage Chairs? Good Questions |

I have wood paneling just like in the first picture in my daylight basement and I love it. I agree that the thin, cheap stuff is horrible, but the real wood paneling adds lovely warmth and texture.
