Dwell Studio furniture is not treated with flame retardant. I have a down-filled sofa and while it tamps down unevenly, the tamping down is very easy to fix by beating the sofa with a stick or just shaking the cushions. I don't find it too taxing to fluff up the couch occasionally and it is incredibly comfortable to sit on. I got mine from Shabby Chic. Sources for Wool-Stuffed Furniture? Good Questions |

It's a funny article and some of it rings true, but how can fresh flowers be a prop?! Am I the only one that buys them periodically to brighten up my home? I think it's funny that you think that pictures of dark bedrooms have "thoroughly pervaded the internet these last few years." I think you may have just been seeing pictures of Jenna Lyons' bedroom over and over again. I have been wanting to go dark in my bedroom for a while, but I am having a difficult time finding examples. My room is north-facing and doesn't get a ton of light, but I want it to be cave-like and romantic. I love this color and have seen it before, but I just can't figure out if it would look okay in my room. So please keep posting pictures of dark bedrooms! It is really hard to see on an internet browser with poorly lit pictures, but the "before" colors appear to have been really washed out. The "after" colors look much sharper and the gold is far from drab. I like it! Before & After: Painting a San Francisco Victorian |

I didn't think we would use ours, but we actually have breakfast at our breakfast bar all the time. And like the others said, it's a popular spot at parties. I would also add that after a long day on your feet, sitting at the counter to chop vegetables for dinner is a relief. Are Bars Between Kitchen/Living Room Useful? Good Questions |

I own a Nook and I read a lot of books in a year, but I buy very few books. After the switch to the Nook, I have continued to get my books from the library, they are just e-books now. I absolutely love using an e-reader, but I waited until I was certain there were enough books available from the library that I would want to read before I bought one. My parents moved around a lot when I was a kid. They settled into their last house when I was around 13, so I grew up there for much of my life. It was a rental, however, and we didn't like it very much, so none of us were ever very attached to that house. What remained constant throughout my childhood was our furniture. My parents moved out of the house in NY and into an apartment in NC and made me take all of my stuff (the worst). Their furniture is in the new place, so it feels like home. And, believe it or not, the furniture they bought in the 80s is still fabulous. Have Your Parents Moved? |
