I had to come out of lurking to comment on this post because it is purely spectacular. It just goes to show what original architecture ("good bones") and sensationally heartfelt, personal design can bring to making a house a home.

Benjamin Moore's Raccoon Fur. It is a navy, almost black. I was inspired by Daniel over at Manhattan Nest to paint my bathroom this color, and I couldn't be happier. Here is a link to his bathroom on the blog:

You know what I'd really love to see? Someone who has transformed their apartment kitchen *without* painting their wood cabinets. Not because I prefer the look (I do not), but because there are those of us who do not have this luxury. I would love to see how someone else has dealt with this design obstacle.

What is the paint color in the living room? I'm hoping to paint the living room/hallway in my new apartment a similar gray/beige (greige). It's a nice neutral.
