I don't think etiquette has "changed" so much as it has fallen by the wayside. People don't send thank you notes anymore, and think having multiple showers is OK too. If you want to "celebrate" how about inviting all your lady friends out to lunch, no strings attached? Celebrating a child before they're here isn't much of a celebration for the child, it's about the parents, let's be real. If you want to celebrate the child, have a big birthday party for them. My daughter is *obsessed* with drawing on our white kitchen cabinets at the moment.
