Everyone:

Thanks again for all of your wonderful comments! We have really loved reading through them all, and we hope that you drift back through our apartment tour if you're feeling like the eclectic bug has bitten you! (And another big thanks to Katie for her great photography!)

Also, just so credit is given where it's due, I totally got the idea for displaying our childhood Matchbox Car collections from an older tour:

Even still, I love making them, collectively, a fun, worn, multi-colored focal point! Thanks again, and happy decorating, y'all!

Hi mrpeatie!

Thanks for your great comments--it's great to read that, even though it sounds like our styles are different, you still enjoyed bits and pieces of ours! Even though we love our eclectic array, it is all about cohesion so that it doesn't seem like some welter of madness.

And the next dining room table you get, throw it at a diagonal! Especially if you snag a very "square" house ;-)

We love things that hold plenty of memories. The bulk of the cast iron actually came from a dear friend who knows that I love to cook. I always think of him when I use them!

Hi Jennifer!

We're touched that you decided to make your AT commentary debut with our tour! We love our place so much, and we're so glad you did too! Thanks again for your wonderful comments--they mean a lot!

Hi meowlady!

Yes, the photograph of the green room mounted to that series of distressed, framed-out boards is still very much there! As is the really narrow oil painting (I think photo 3). If I decide to part with either, I'll letcha know! :-)

Hi jiggajaymz! The graphic kitchen curtains are sheers from Lowe's. I realized a while back that home improvement stores are great places to get ridiculous deals on decor items that are typically found in HomeGoods/Pier 1, etc. (Like my $45 floor display KitchenAid stand mixer!)

Andy and I would like to thank Katie for capturing our home so well--INCLUDING the slanted shots (because neither of us is anything close to level, we love them--plus, the Fiestaware that's featured is all about fun, so I think it approves, too). As a few of y'all have mentioned, the trim is an in-progress project (it can't all get stripped and pretty overnight) and definitely adds to the worn aspect of our Worn-Eclectic style.

Thanks to everyone who's commented (and continues to comment)--we love living here, and are glad y'all like parts of it too!

Hi tarainsevenvalleys!

The kitchen table is actually a $10.00 find from a university surplus store. The top was covered in some horrible white latex paint, which I peeled off and then slightly sanded the top. The indentations (including an entire paper clip) retain the white paint, which gives it such a worn look. We love it! Good luck on your project!

Hi Spencer! It's not a tulip frame bed (the closest we get is the little MCM tulip base table in there). From what my parents tell me (this was my childhood bed), it dates to the very late 19th century to early 20th century--sort of a vernacular sort of cedar bed.

I have to echo the handful of others who've found this place fun, bizarre, and delightful unto itself--a refreshing break from a lot of the MCM-centric spaces that we see. And all of the catty comments about cleaning supplies? Really? These are homes, not museums. To paraphrase Bambi's Thumper, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all." Silence is more deafening than drivel.

What a refreshing, fun, and inviting home! With such wonderful art--I love art brut/outsider art--complemented by an eclectic array of well-worn accessories and furniture, this home stands apart from many of AT's latest tours. I found myself literally laughing out loud at the whimsical touches--the tooth-and-doorknob combo is epic.

I haven't posted in a while, but I have to respectfully disagree with the island-dwellers above. For the first time in a while AT has featured a space that isn't MCM (not that there's anything wrong with it, but seeing the same Eames lounge chair and ottoman every other post gets repetitive and boring) or packed-full with West Elm accessories, "revamped" IKEA dressers, or other big box store room displays. Bravo to y'all for embracing the worn paint, the whimsy, the dumpster gems, and making it all work as a home. I might have to steal your dining table/chairs, that two-drawer red industrial cart, among other great finds!

Lovely! The inviting, warm decor makes me want a mug of cider and a good book. I love the partial Deco vanity in the bathroom between the pedestal sinks--great reuse! And the chickies are precious.

Kudos to anyone brave enough use such bold colors. I LOVE color; it's so reflective of various personalities. I love several pieces of the furniture and accessories, all of which are arranged in a coherent, fun design!

Fantastic home. I especially love the small table with the metal chairs; super cute! I love bungalows, and y'all have done a great job complementing the architecture of the home with modern amenities. Great tour.

Very nicely done. The juxtaposition of rustic and modern is something I strive for in my own space. I also really like the exterior shots. The pooches are cute, too. And as a person who lives in an ordered home, I don't ever understand the contempt directed at those who do. (Sure, I have OCD, but it's also my space.) And the catty comments about wardrobe selections smack of high school; grow up.
