Holy *****. If I have to hear anymore about the f**** French and their perfect f********* lives and children and clothes and food . . . I am going to go break every bottle of Champagne in my house! (which is, like, two). Sorry, it just drives me crazy. French women don't get fat. French children eat everything. French children never cry or disobey. I call BS on all of it.

And here my defense of giving my kid a "kids food item". I am not okay with my kid going hungry so I can teach him to like roast chicken and veggies. Hungry kids don't sleep as well. Hungry kids don't learn as well. Hungry kids don't behave as nicely. Like the author says, it doesn't have to be total crap (straight up junk food will NOT help with sleep, learning and behavior of course), but simpler and softer and blander will fill them up at least.

FABULOUS job girls! Love the colors. I say, enjoy something fun and cute while you are young! One day you'll be married and say, "Honey, I'd really like a hot pink bedroom" and he'll threaten divorce. So I wish I would have pinked, purpled, flowered and laced it up while I was a youngin.

Just so you know, most people here (myself included, if I'm honest) are kind of decor snobs. We pride ourselves on it. So ignore any snooty comments. You did an amazing job!

People are way harsh. If you like the space and it works with your budget, you can make it work.

First of all, completely disregard the curtains. They work. They're fine. Nobody would think anything of them unless you bring it up.

The panels . . . well, they look really, really, high. But if you can cover them, forget about fabric. Too expensive. Black paper will do the trick super cheaply. Try a school paper supply place, like here: http://bit.ly/7nPkiQ or go for gossamer, well, fake gossamer stuff, found through prom supply companies: http://www.stumpsprom.com/catalog.cfm?cat=7944

If that is too complicated, just keep the lights low, use lots of candles or glowy lights. Focus of creatiing beautiful tables (and great music and food). Everyone will love it.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned flat out cash! I remember getting quarters and even sometimes dollar bills!!! I loved getting cash. Then I could put it in my piggy bank.

My church's denominatin (Disciples of Christ) is doing something cool this year, called "Reverse Trick or Treating," where the kids will hand the adults that open their doors on Halloween night a square of fair trade dark chocolate along with information about the social and environmental issues of the cocoa industry. How cool is that!? I love it.

Take everything off your bookshelves and re-organize/accessorize. This makes me so happy!

Hers. It's amazing. And it will work with some of his other pieces if you find some ways to pull it together.

We're doing exactly this sometime this summer! My husband goes to school in Santa Monica so we're going to camp for five days in Malibu. Okay, this is my idea and I haven't convinced him yet. We'll see if I can talk him into it.

I recently threw a dinner party and for the first time I wasn't stressed a bit because I planned ahead and made a list of to-dos for the days leading up. I even made the mashed potatoes the day before and then put them in the slow cooker a few hours beforehand. I was drinking a margarita and reading a magazine while waiting for the guests to get there.

I bought the book weeks ago and was waiting until the right time to get started. Last night I took a bath and decided to read the first chapter. And then today I find out that The Cure is up. Weird! I am think I have to do it now.

I have been feeling annoyed with Domino for a while. It's not JUST that it is high-end, but also that it seemed like it was all about the design world. I started to feel like I was getting a periodical for industrial professionals. It just wasn't fun enough.

Of course, most publications aren't doing well (I still weep over Blueprints short life) but I think they were losing readership . . . and if you can't get readers, you can't get advertisers.

Modfan . . . it just LOOKS like it is four stacks of books with a big board on top but there is actual structured shelving. Look at the backsides of the two legs in back - you can see that it is metal frame. Also, notice how there are gaps every couple of books. It is sort of like CB2s Array book shelf (linke below), so often seen here on AT. So no, the table won't topple over, even if you take out every book.

But this actual book storage too . . . it's actual shelving. You can still take out books, read them, and put them back. I don't know . . . I have a lot of books so I'm not so put off by it. I mean, I am not in love with it or anything, but not a bad idea. It would be a great place for my many cookbooks.

I like storage boxes and container-type things from Ross, Marchalls and TJ Max. I have also gotten, and this is more embarassing that just buying sheets, gourmet foods. These stores have an aisle of gourmet organic olive oils, flavored imported vinegars, fancy jams, olives and more. I stock up with there is good stuff to use as gifts. Oh! And there are tons of fabulous throw pillows. I love discount stores!

My aunt always checks out the registry and discovers their bathroom colors, but buys a set of big fluffy towels (including hand towels and washcloths) from her favored linen source. She then tops it off with bath crayons (normally for children, but can be great fun for adult newlywed time too, wink wink) and a rubber ducky. Always a hit! I just got engaged, so I was happy to receive this fun yet practical gift.

I HATE folding and I am TERRIBLE at it. I mean, really, really bad. My boyfriend is a Folding God, so he promises that if I marry him I will have neatly folded clothing til death do us part. In fact, he has agreed that laundry is his duty completely.

I try to "help" him with his laundry. He has to re-fold. I just can't do it. I want to try one of those foldy tool things.

I totally dig the orange stripe with the floating shelves painted in the same color! I can't believe other ATers didn't dig it! I even saved the image to my inspiration folder, which is VERY RARE. I try not to take too much inspiration from others creativity, but I may just have to steal it.

Looooooooove ... I would probably cram it full of crap, but you did a great job of paring down. A few more pops of color (an area rug ... few more accessories) would make it even better, but I adore the open feeling here.

I actually thought the big floral couch was delightful in way ... unexpected, cozy, girly. You did it with confidence. I think if you had a more streamlined chair next to it instead of another big chair, it would balance a bit.
